The purpose of this study was to examine the social distance to multicultural adolescents and the multicultural acceptability depending on high school students’ individual characteristics and was to verify the influence of the social distance to multicultural adolescents upon the multicultural acceptability. First, the social distance to multicultural adolescents was higher in boy students than girl students and was higher in academic high school students than in specialized vocational high school students. Second, the multicultural acceptability was higher in girl students and academic high school students than boy students and specialized vocational high school students and was higher in well-off students. Third, high school students’ the higher social distance to multicultural adolescents leads to the lower multicultural acceptability. Finally, the social distance to multicultural adolescents had a statistically significant negative(-) effect on the multicultural acceptability. In light of these findings, it can be known that high school students’ social distance to multicultural adolescents has an impact on multicultural acceptability and that the higher social distance to multicultural adolescents leads to the lower multicultural acceptability.

본 연구에서는 고등학생들의 개인적 특성에 따라 다문화가정 청소년에 대한 사회적 거리감과 다문화 수용성을 알아보고, 다문화가정 청소년에 대한 사회적 거리감이 다문 화 수용성에 미치는 영향을 검증하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 인천광역시 소재 고등학 교에 재학 중인 학생 295명이며, 수집된 자료를 SPSS 27.0 프로그램을 통해 분석한 결 과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화가정 청소년에 대한 사회적 거리감은 남학생이 여학생 보다 높았고, 인문계 고등학교 학생이 특성화 고등학교 학생보다 높았다. 둘째, 다문화 수용성은 여학생과 인문계 고등학교 학생이 남학생과 특성화 고등학교 학생보다 높았 고, 가정형편이 여유가 있는 학생일수록 높았다. 셋째, 고등학생들은 다문화가정 청소 년에 대한 사회적 거리감이 높을수록 다문화 수용성이 낮았다. 마지막으로 다문화가정 청소년에 대한 사회적 거리감은 다문화 수용성에 통계적으로 유의한 부(-)의 영향을 미 쳤다. 이러한 연구 결과를 볼 때, 고등학생들의 다문화가정 청소년에 대한 사회적 거리 감은 다문화 수용성에 영향을 미치며, 다문화가정 청소년에 대한 사회적 거리감이 높 을수록 다문화 수용성이 낮음을 알 수 있다.
