The purpose of this study was to develop a career education program using practical arts in elementary school career education and to analyze the effects of the career education program on career perception of elementary school students. The subjects of this study were two classes in the 6th grade of elementary school in P city, composed of an experimental group and a control group, and a total of 29 career education programs were conducted in the experimental group. As a test tool, career perception test paper were used. The SPSSWIN program was used for data analysis, and the t-test was performed to verify the difference in career perception between the experimental and control groups. The main research results obtained through this study are as follows. First, the experimental group’s pre- and post-test results showed that elementary school students’ career perception improved significantly, reflecting detailed career education goals and achievement standards in 2015. In connection with career activities of creative experience activities, it is interpreted that career perception has increased as students experience the program, as well as undestanding themselves, recognizing the professional world, and thinking about their career attitudes. Second, the average of all sub-areasof the experimental group’s career recognition test(selfunderstanding, vocational world perception, career attitude) has improved significantly comparing to the control group. This means that career education program provide opportunities to think and ubderstand about oneself and family, investigate jobs and careers in various fields, explore the future job world, developspecific plans for one’s future career, increase perception of various job worlds, and improve career attitudes Therefore, it can be seen that a career education program using practical arts had a significant positive effect on the career perception of elementary school students.

본 연구에서는 실과를 활용한 진로교육 프로그램을 개발하여, 초등학생에게 적용함으로써 초등학생 의 진로인식에 미치는 영향을 검증하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 연구 대상은 P시에 위치하고 있는 초등학교 6학년 2개 학급을 대상으로 하였으며, 진로교육 프로그 램을 개발하여, 실험집단을 대상으로 총 29차시의 수업을 실시하였다. 검사 도구는 진로인식 검사지를 사용하였다. 자료분석에는 SPSSWIN 프로그램을 사용하였고, 실험집단과 통제집단의 진로인식의 차이 를 검증하기 위해 t검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻은 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실험집단의 사전-사후검사 결과에서 초등학생의 진로인식이 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타 났으며, 이는 실과를 활용한 진로교육 프로그램이 2015 진로교육 세부목표 및 성취기준을 충실히 반영 하여 만들어졌으며, 창의적 체험활동의 진로활동과 연계하여, 자신을 이해하고, 직업 세계를 알아보며, 진로에 대한 자신의 태도를 생각해보는 활동뿐만 아니라 최종적으로 자신의 진로를 디자인하고 구체적 인 진로를 계획하는 활동으로 이루어져 있어 학생들이 프로그램을 경험하면서 진로인식이 높아진 것으 로 분석된다. 둘째, 실험집단의 진로인식 검사의 모든 하위영역(자기이해, 직업세계 인식, 진로태도) 평균이 통제 집단에 비해 유의한 차이로 향상되었으며, 이는 진로교육 프로그램이 자신과 가족에 대해 생각하고 이 해할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고, 다양한 분야의 직업과 진로에 대해 조사해 보며, 여러 체험을 통해 직 업에 대한 인식을 가질 수 있고, 미래 직업 세계에 대해 탐색하며, 자신의 미래 진로에 대한 구체적인 계획을 세울 수 있게 되고, 자신에 대한 이해가 높아지며, 다양한 직업세계에 대한 인식이 높아지고, 진로를 대하는 태도가 향상된 것으로 보인다. 따라서 실과를 활용한 진로교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 진로인식에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있다.
