This study aims to present educational pastoral directions and alternatives to how to prepare and move forward with the future after COVID-19 by examining the difficulties of the church school site and the reality of the next generation faced by Korean churches through the crisis of COVID-19. Over the past three years, church schools have been holding face-to-face and non-face-to-face services under unavoidable circumstances. Under these circumstances, the church faces the reality of having to re-examine and reflect on the next generation's faith education and all activities in church schools, and pastors and teachers in church schools are looking for new paths in many considerations. What is also coming to a bigger crisis is that it is difficult to find a pastor to lead a church school. Churches located outside of large cities have not been able to find pastors in church schools for several years now. Even though each church advertises for pastors, the number of applicants has decreased significantly. Recently, the church has come to a point where it has to respond with a sense of crisis amid a situation in which even the number of applicants for theological graduate school is decreasing. Therefore, it is now necessary to recognize the reality of the supply and demand of pastors and to design and apply church schools centered on the education system, not on ministers, This church education system should include clear goals and contents of church education, present curricula and specific educational methods for systematic faith education, and make the best education. To this end, six key elements of the church school education system (purpose, two wings, curriculum, dream, home, and community) were first selected through an Needs Analysis and an education system was designed to reflect the characteristics of the church school. And the effect was analyzed through actual application. Therefore, this study aims to design and apply the "Church School Education System" to operate the existing pastor-centered church school operation centered on the educational system.

본 연구는 코로나 19라는 위기를 겪으며 한국교회가 직면한 교회학교의 현장 어려 움과 다음 세대의 현실을 고찰함으로써, 향후 미래를 위한 교육목회적 방향성과 대안 제시에 그 목적이 있다. 지난 3년에 걸쳐 교회학교는 코로나 19로 인해 대면·비대면 의 혼합 예배를 드리는 상황으로, 이제 교회는 다음 세대의 신앙교육과 교회학교의 모든 활동을 다시 점검하고 깊은 성찰을 해야 하는 현실에 마주하게 되었다. 따라서 목회자들과 교회학교의 교사들은 많은 고민 속에 새로운 길을 모색해 나가야 할 것이다. 현재 교회학교의 현실적 어려움은 이를 운영 또는 지도할 수 있는 목회자 지원 인 력이 부족하고, 특히 소지역 및 농어촌 지역은 더욱 심각한 상황이 전개되고 있다. 그 리고 최근에는 신학대학원 응시자마저 축소되어 목회자 인력난이 가속화되는 상황에 처해 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 현실적 문제 인식에서 출발한다. 우선 요구조사를 통해 교회학 교 교육시스템의 6가지 핵심요소(목적, 두 날개, 교육과정, 꿈, 가정, 지역사회)를 선정 하고, 이를 개신교회 교회학교의 특성을 반영하는 교육시스템을 설계하였다. 그리고 세부적으로 기존의 목회자 중심의 교회학교 운영을 교육시스템 중심으로 운영하고자 ‘교회학교 교육시스템’을 설계하고 실제 적용을 통해 효과성을 분석하였다. 이에 교회는 목회자 수급의 현실적 어려움을 인식하고 체계적인 교육시스템 구축 으로 목회자(사역자) 중심이 아닌 교육시스템 중심으로 평신도를 활성화할 수 있는 교회학교(주일학교)를 설계하고 이를 적용해 나가야 할 것이다. 이러한 교회교육시스 템에는 분명한 교회교육의 목표와 내용이 포함되어 있어야 하며, 체계적인 신앙교육 을 위한 교육과정 및 구체적인 교육방법들을 제시하고 교회가 할 수 있는 교육적인 노력에 최선을 다해야 할 것이다.
