This study is an exploratory study for the use of storytelling in physical education classes. It aims to provide academic implications to the field by examining the concept of traditional storytelling, its use in physical education classes, and literature on modern storytelling and Humanitas Oriented Physical Education(HOPE). The research method relied on literature research, and analyzed articles and books in narrative studies that encompassed storytelling and narrative, case studies of other subjects using storytelling, and previous studies related to HOPE. As a result of the study, it was found that traditional storytelling, represented by orally narrated children’s story, expanded the scope of the concept and became rooted in the field of education in the form of digital storytelling. The researcher presented the concept of 'story acting' and suggested a physical education teaching method that effectively implements the physical activity value curriculum as one of the methods of HOPE.

본 연구는 체육수업에서의 스토리텔링 활용을 위한 탐색적 연구로 전통적인 스토리텔링의 개념 과 체육수업에서의 활용, 현대의 스토리텔링과 인문적 체육교육에 관한 문헌을 고찰하여 현장 에 학문적 시사점을 제공하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구방법은 문헌연구에 의존하였으며 스토리텔링과 내러티브를 포괄하는 서사학의 논문 및 단행본, 스토리텔링을 활용한 타 교과 연 구사례, 인문적 체육교육 관련 선행연구물 등을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 구연동화로 대표되는 전 통적인 스토리텔링은 개념의 외연을 확장하여 디지털 스토리텔링의 모습으로 교육분야에 뿌리 내리게 되었음을 알 수 있었다. 연구자는 ‘스토리액팅’의 개념을 제시하며 ‘인문적 체육교육’의 한가지 방안으로 신체활동가치 교육과정을 충실히 구현하는 체육수업 방안을 제안하였다.
