The purpose of this study is to identify trends in music therapy research based on psychotherapy and counseling theory, and to provide basic data for future music therapy research. To this end, 12 psychotherapy and counseling theories were collected for domestic music therapy degree thesis after 2000 registered in the RISS. The subject was selected and analyzed by reviewing the relevance, Korean abstract and theoretical background of the subject paper. The results obtained through this study are as follows. First, the total number of studies was 49, of which 22 were cognitive behavioral therapy and 17 were positive psychology, and 10 other theories confirmed that there were preferred theories in music therapy research as few studies or no studies were found. In addition, most of the studies were conducted by music therapy majors, and there were many experimental studies as research methods. Second, adults were the most common subjects of the study, and studies were conducted in adolescents, children, the seniors, and others. Third, in the research content, the theory that was the basis of the study was clearly revealed in the music therapy intervention centered on most independent variables, and the research topic was also able to confirm the relationship between the theory-based research and each theory.

본 연구의 목적은 심리치료 및 상담이론을 기반으로 이루어진 음악치료 연구의 동향을 확인하고, 앞으 로 이루어질 음악치료 연구에 기초자료를 제공하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 심리치료 및 상담이론 열두 가지를 중심으로 학술연구정보서비스(RISS)에 등록된 2000년도 이후의 국내 음악치료 학위논문을 수 집하였고, 대상 논문의 제목에 명시된 해당 이론과의 연관성, 국문 초록 및 이론적 배경을 검토하여 연구 대상을 선정한 뒤 분석하였다. 이 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구 수는 총 49 편으로, 이 중 인지행동치료가 22편, 긍정심리학이 17편이며, 다른 열 가지 이론은 소수의 연구가 있 거나 발견되지 않아 음악치료 연구에서 선호되는 이론이 있음을 확인하였다. 또 대부분의 연구가 음악 치료 전공자들에 의해 이루어졌고, 연구방법은 실험연구가 많았다. 둘째, 연구 대상은 성인이 가장 많 았으며 청소년과 아동, 노인, 기타에서도 연구가 이루어졌다. 셋째, 연구 내용에서는 대부분의 음악치료 개입에서 해당 연구의 기반이 된 이론이 명확하게 드러났으며, 연구 주제 역시 이론의 주요 개념이나 선행연구에 포함된 내용을 통해 이론을 기반으로 한 연구와 각 이론과의 연관성을 확인할 수 있었다.
