Through Sung Mijung’s first collection of poems, Love with Bald Head(Segyesa, 1997) published in the 1990s, this paper aims to examine “the poetic reality” that appears in her poem world and discuss the representations that construct the reality and the signs of the subject. In particular, it aims to reach a delicate analysis by monopolizing the concepts of Jacques Lacan’s ‘the Symbolic’, ‘the Imaginary’, and ‘the Real’. Sung Mijung’s unique “poetic reality” implements a unique world that responds to the poetry consciousness of the time and proves her own specificity. For her, “reality” is an inner area of confession in connection with an individual’s daily life, a world of distortion and disruption that is not in harmony with the “subject”, and a model of cruelty and harshness created by twisted fantasies. Thus, the speaker there represents ‘Ego’ who is in discord with the world through various situations and circumstances. In particular, the signs of illness and loneliness described by the speaker “individual” while feeling the “poetic reality” have a profound significance. Sung Mijung is showing the homogenous poem world of cruelty and fantasy through series of “Fairy Tale,” “Cool World” and “Movie,” and series of “Bald Head” and “Baseball.” Her “poetic reality” is largely shown through “family”, “symbolic order”, “fairy tales” and “movie”. First of all, “family” is depicted as performing a distorted “care” that creates a twisted 28 한국문예창작 제22권 제1호(통권 제57호) - 92 - desire. The image of the “speaker” who becomes “other” and “marginal” from them is revealed in connection with the poetic world of “solitude” and “violence”. Furthermore, speakers suffering from diseases (signs) originating from “family” cannot communicate “the Symbolic” or “symbolic order” in a healthy manner. For her, the Symbolic is a place of violence that discourages ‘making relationship’ or deprives of her position. In addition, the unique fantasy world shown through “Fairy Tale” and “Movie” reveals the extremes of twisted and distorted poetic reality that the subject of Sung Mijung’s poem realizes. Sung Mijung’s “fantasy” rather exerts the power to create a “poetic reality” that overwhelms the subject. The significance of this paper is as follows. First, since the “Study on the the Poems by Sung Mijung” has not yet been conducted. Through this paper, it is possible to overcome the lack of “Study on the the Poems by Sung Mijung” and “Study on the 1990s Poem”. Second, the uniqueness of Sung Mijung’s poems can be found through the signs of her “poetic reality,” the “representations” that construct the reality, and signs of various “subjects” there. Through this, it can be confirmed that examining ‘poetic reality’ will be an important way to examine the poetic world. Third, it seems effective to use “psychanalysis” not only in Sung Mijung’s poems but also in various poems. because, poetry writing can be related to the subject’s perception and consciousness placed within ‘Reality’ composed of ‘the Symbolic’ · ‘the Imaginary’ · ‘the Real’. Poetry is created through language and images, and psychoanalysis is a way to examine it delicately.

이 논문은 성미정의 첫 시집이자 1990년대에 출간한 『대머리와의 사랑』 (세계사, 1997)을 통해, 그의 시 세계에 나타나는 ‘시적 현실’과 그것을 구성하 는 표상, 주체의 징후를 살펴 논의를 개진하고자 한다. 특히, 자크 라캉의 상 징계, 상상계, 실재의 개념을 활용함으로써, 섬세한 분석에 이르고자 한다. 성미정 시의 독특한 ‘시적 현실’은, 당대적인 시 의식에 호응하면서도 그만 의 특유함을 증명하는 독특한 세계를 구현해내고 있다. 그에게 있어 현실이 란, 개인의 일상과 결부하는 고백의 내밀한 영역이자, 주체와 조화를 이루 지 못하는 왜곡과 와해의 세계, 비틀어진 환상이 주조한 잔인과 가혹의 조 형물이다. 따라서 그곳에서의 화자는 다양한 국면과 정황을 통해, 세계와 불화하는 자기를 표시한다. 특히 ‘시적 현실’을 감각하면서 화자 개인이 서술 하는 병증과 고독의 징후는 의미심장하다. 성미정은 「동화」와 「쿨 월드」와 「영화」 연작, ‘대머리’와 ‘야구’ 연작 등을 통해, 잔혹과 환상의 균질한 시 세계를 상영하고 있다. 그의 ‘시적 현실’은 크게 가족, 상징적 질서, ‘동화’와 ‘영화’를 통해 상영되고 있다. 먼저, 가족 은 비틀린 욕망을 탄생시키는 왜곡된 돌봄을 자행하는 존재로 그려진다. 그 들로부터 타자화, 주변화되는 주체의 모습은 고독과 폭력의 시 세계와 결부 하며 드러난다. 나아가, 가족으로부터 기원한 병(징후)에 시달리는 화자는 상 징계 혹은 상징적 질서를 건강하게 주파하지 못한다. 그에게 상징계는 관계 맺기를 좌절시키거나, 자기의 위치를 박탈하는 폭력의 장소이다. 또, ‘동화’, ‘영화’ 등을 통해 보여지는 환상의 세계는, 성미정 시의 주체가 실감하는 비 틀리고 왜곡된 ‘시적 현실’의 극단을 드러낸다. 성미정의 ‘환상’은 오히려 주 체를 점령해버리는 ‘시적 현실’을 주조하는 힘을 발휘한다. 본 논문을 통해 수확할 수 있는 유의미함을 정리하자면 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘성미정 시 연구’는 아직 본격적으로 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구를 계기로 미진하게 이루어져 온 ‘성미정 시 연구’와, 편향된 채 진행되어 온 ‘1990년대 시 연구’의 미진함을 극복할 계기를 획득할 수 있다. 둘째, 성미정 시의 독특 성은, 그의 ‘시적 현실’과 그곳을 구성하는 ‘표상’들, 그곳에 위치하는 ‘주체’ 의 징후를 통해 발견할 수 있다. 이를 통해, 시 세계를 살피는 데에 있어서 시 인의 ‘시적 현실’을 고찰하는 것이야말로, 긴요한 방법일 것이라는 사실을 반 추해볼 수 있다. 셋째, 성미정의 시뿐만 아니라, 다양한 시 작품에 ‘정신분석’ 적 접근을 통한 논의를 이루는 것은 유효해 보인다. 왜냐하면, 시 쓰기는 상 징계·상상계·실재가 구성하는 현실의 자장 안에 놓이는 주체의 인식과 의 식에 관련할 수 있기 때문이다. 시는 언어와 이미지를 통해 주조되는데, 정신 분석은 이를 세밀하게 살필 수 있는 방법론이라고 할 수 있겠다.
