- Accurate knowledge and understanding of airport operations, regulations and business models is required to design airport facilities and systems for new construction, renovation or expansion purposes. In addition, facilities should be designed and resources optimized to anticipate the evolutionary rate of operational, technical and regulatory aspects and to be sustainable. Airport construction is subject to many regulations, but the aviation security aspect, one of the sensitive areas of airport design, has been underestimated over the past several decades. It is urgent to prepare countermeasures for this as it is becoming more intensified with the aim of mass killing lives in densely populated areas such as Landside. As a result of the study, major countries such as the Airport Council International (ACI), the United States, and Europe have adopted the 'Risk-based security design' method, which reflects and operates the latest threat assessment information in airport design. In Korea, due to lack of understanding of the government and industry, only ｢security guidelines for airport construction and maintenance ｣are being introduced and operated, and the need to reflect 'risk-based security design' for airport buildings reflecting the latest threat trends is raised. Therefore, it drew practical implications that the government and airport operators prepared a legal basis for reinforcing the security of domestic airport buildings, which have been underestimated, and raised the need for Blaster Resistance Design of airport buildings that were not covered in existing domestic studies.

- 최근 항공안전과 보안에 대한 중요성이 크게 대두됨에 따라 금년초부터 한국항공보안학회의 필요성이 학계와 산업계로 부터 지속적으로 논의되었습니다. 항공운송산업의 핵심인 공항과 항공사 그리고 항공보안을 필요로 하는 산업체를 위시하여 국내에서 중요성을 인식하면서도 실제적인 커뮤니티 역할을 할 수 있는 조직이 전무하여 정부와 산업체 그리고 교육기관과 서로 원하는 커뮤니케이션이 부족하였다고 볼 수 있습니다. 한국항공보안학회는 항공보안 분야의 이론적 토대 연구와 산업현장에서 필요로 하는 실무적인 응용연구를 활성화하여 우리나라 항공보안산업 발전에 기여를 목적으로 하고 있습니다.이러한 목적하에 설립된 항공보안학회의 역할은 그 어느때보다 중요할 것이며 산·관·학이 협력하여 해결해야 할 과제가 많다고 봅니다. 학회에서는 항공보안학 이라는 저서를 통해 항공산업계와 대학에서 필요한 교육교재를 제공하고자 합니다. 본 학회는 항공보안과 관련된 학술적 연구와 학계, 산업계, 정부 관련기관 등의 상호간의 교류 및 공동연구 등을 촉진하고, 국내외의 항공보안 관련 학회·단체와의 협력을 도모하여 항공보안 관련 학문 및 산업의 진흥을 목적으로 합니다. 그리고 항공보안 이론 연구 및 정책 개발, 항공보안관련 학술 발표회 등 각종 회의 개최, 국내외 관련 기관과의 학술교류, 학회지, 학술간행물 및 기타 발간물의 간행, 항공보안관련 인증, 항공보안 전문 자격제도 연구, 항공보안관련 교육 프로그램 개발, 기타 본 학회의 목적 달성에 필요한 사업을 하고자 합니다. 정부차원에서도 항공보안에 대한 여러 가지 사안에 대해 학회와 유기적이고 협력적인 관계를 유지할 수 있을 것이라 사료됩니다. 명실공히 항공보안학회가 우리나라의 항공분야 대표 학회로 자리매김하기 위해서는 항공분야 전문가들의 경험과 지혜가 필요하다고 생각합니다. 건설적이고 발전적인 취지의 항공보안학회 창립을 위해 혼신의 노력을 기울이겠습니다. 처음은 미약하지만 나중은 창대하리라는 말이 있듯이 시작이 중요하다고 봅니다. 우리 한국항공보안학회가 항공산업의 큰 걸음을 내 딛을수 있도록 회원 여러분의 적극적인 참여와 성원을 부탁 드립니다.
