The aim of this study is to detect an estimation method of Quarterly GRDP by using high frequency statistics indicators, which can be functioned as a measurement of the comprehensive economic performance in regional areas and a flash estimator of their annual GRDP. The monthly or quarterly production indexes and workers are used as high frequency indicator statistics, and the estimation of Quarterly GRDP is divided into 15 large industry sectors. The period of estimation is from first quarter on 2010 to third quarter on 2022. The major results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the economic performance indicator, that is Quarterly GDP, is used on estimation of Quarterly GRDP, and the simple pro-rata benchmark method is applied in order to make a balance between the sum of GRDP and the GDP. Especially, the Quarterly GRDP is expected to use as an estimation data suitable to analyze in detail the comprehensive economic performance of regional areas, because they are composed of 15 industry sectors. Second, the annual sum of Quarterly GRDP can be used as a flash estimator of official annual GRDP. Because the fourth quarter GRDP would be estimated on March in the next year, and the annual sum could be calculated as a flash estimator to be projected 9 months earlier than official statistics. Finally the trend of quarterly GRDP growth rates can help economists and analysts diagnose the situation of business conditions in regional areas because it include the information of growth trends in 15 industries.

이 연구의 목적은, 지역의 종합적인 경제성과 측정치로서 그리고 연간 GRDP의 신속 예측치(Flash Estimator)로서 기능할 수 있도록, 고빈도(high frequency) 통계자료를 활 용한 분기 GRDP 추정방법을 탐색하는 것이다. 월별 또는 분기별 생산지수와 취업자 수 가 고빈도 통계자료로 이용되었고, 분기 GRDP 추정은 15개 산업 부문으로 진행되었다. 추정 대상 기간은 2010년 1분기부터 2022년 3분기까지이다. 주요 연구 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경제활동 성과지표인 분기 GDP가 분기 GRDP 추정에 사용되었으며, 이때 GRDP의 합과 GDP의 회계적 일치를 달성하기 위 해 단순 비례배분 벤치마킹 기법이 적용되었다. 특히, 분기 GRDP는 15개 산업 부문으로 구성되어 있기 때문에 지역의 종합적인 경제성과 내용을 상세하게 분석하기에 적합한 추정자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다. 둘째, 분기 GRDP의 연간 합은 공식적인 연간 GRDP의 신속 예측치로 활용될 수 있다. 왜냐하면 4분기 GRDP가 익년 3월경 추정될 수 있고, 이때 연간 합은 공식 통계보다 9개월 앞서 예상되는 신속 추정치로 산출되기 때문이다. 마지막으로, 분기 GRDP 성장률 추이는 경제학자나 분석가가 지역의 경제상 태 국면을 진단하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있다. 왜냐하면 분기 성장률은 15개 산업 부문의 성장 추이 정보를 포함하기 때문이다.
