The purpose of this study was to identify the priority of educational needs by analyzing the educational needs of liberal arts curriculum for students enrolled in the College of Art and Design. 271 students from the College of Art and Design in the Seoul metropolitan area participated in this survey. A total of 12 questions were asked about the educational needs of the operation of the liberal arts curriculum, and the collected questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. Descriptive statistics, t-verification, f-verification, Borich's needs assessment model and the the Locus for Focus Model model analysis were performed. As a result, it was confirmed that the items that should reflect the needs of students with a top priority on the operation of the liberal arts curriculum were ‘the liberal arts curriculum reflecting the needs of students’ and ‘the diversity of liberal arts subjects’. Based on these results, it was suggested that in-depth discussions are needed through quantitative and qualitative research on the opening of various liberal arts courses and the educational needs for liberal education in other majors.

본 연구의 목적은 조형예술대학 재학생을 대상으로 교양 교육과정 운영에 대한 교육 요구도를 분석하여 교육 요구의 우선순위를 확인하는 것이다. A대학교 조형예술대학 재학생 271명이 교육요구도 설문조사에 참여하였다. 교양 교육과정 운영에 대한 교육 요구도 조사 문항은 총 12문항이고, 수집된 설문지는 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였고, 기술통계와 t검증, f검증, Borich 요구도 분석, LfFM(The Locus for Focus Model) 등을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 교양 교육과정 운영에 대하여 최우선 순위를 두고 학생들의 요구를 반영 해야 하는 항목은 ‘학생의 요구를 반영한 교양 교육과정’과 ‘교양 교과목의 다양함’으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 조형예술계 교양교육 뿐 아니라 타전공 분야 교 양교육도 경험할 수 있는 다양한 교양 교과목 개설과 교양 교육과정 요구에 대하여 다양한 층위의 연구 수행을 통해 심층적 논의가 필요함을 제언하였다.
