Business Incubator’s graduate companies are facing a difficult environment in which they have to do well in the search for new knowledge and the utilization of existing knowledge in a rapidly changing and uncertain environment. This can be solved through industry-university cooperation, and trust between companies and universities and these are very important for effective industry-university performance. This study investigated the effects of search and utilization of graduate companies from incubators outside the incubator on performance, mediating effects of active industry-university cooperation, and moderating effects of trust. As a result of empirical analysis of the survey responses conducted on 201 graduate companies of incubation centers nationwide, first, search and utilization had an effect on the performance of graduate companies. Second, the mediating effect of active actions on industrial-educational cooperation was confirmed in the relationship between exploration and utilization and corporate performance. Third, the moderated mediating effect of trust was significant in the active actions for exploration and industry-academic cooperation, but the utilization was not significant. Based on these results, we would like to make the following policy recommendations. First, there is a need for a management system that can sustain trust between universities and graduate companies. Second, it is necessary for the government and universities to make efforts to carry out continuous industry-university cooperation with universities even after graduation. Third, companies continue industry-university cooperation with universities even after graduation, suggesting the establishment of a virtual cluster for graduates who are physically distant. This study will provide practical alternatives for business incubation center policy makers, universities, center heads, and managers.

창업보육센터 졸업기업은 급변하는 불확실한 환경에서 새로운 지식에 대한 탐색과 기존 지식에 대한 활용까지 잘해야 하는 어려운 환경에 직면해 있다. 이러한 문제는 지속적인 산학협력을 통해 해결 가능한데, 이를 위해서는 대학과 기업간의 신뢰가 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 인큐베이터를 벗어난 졸업기업의 양손잡이 전략이 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 신뢰의 조절 효과와 적극적 산학협력의 조절된 매개효과를 연구하였다. 전국 창업보육센터 졸업기업 201개를 대상으로 실시된 설문 응답을 실증분석 한 결과 첫째, 탐색 및 활용은 졸업기업 성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 탐색 및 활용과 기업성과와의 관계에서 산학협력에 대한 적극적 행동에 대한 정(+)의 매개효과가 확인되었다. 셋째, 탐색 및 산학협력에 대한 적극적 행동에서 신뢰의 조절된 정(+)의 매개효과는 유의하였으나, 활용은 유의하지 않았다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 제언을 하고자 한다. 첫째, 대학과 졸업기업과의 신뢰를 지속적으로 이어갈 수 있는 관리 시스템이 필요하다. 둘째, 졸업 후에도 대학과 지속적인 산학협력을 실행할 수 있는 정부와 대학의 노력이 필요하다. 셋째, 물리적 거리가 멀어진 졸업기업이 산학협력을 효과적으로 지속하기 위하여 가상의 클러스터 구축이 필요하다. 본 연구로 창업보육센터 정책 입안자, 대학, 센터장, 매니저 등 실무자에게 졸업기업이 성과를 도출하고 성장하기 위한 실질적인 대안을 제공할 것이다.
