The education agenda in MOT has not sufficiently discussed yet. In this research paper, the MOT education agenda will be covered with the case of the University of California-Berkeley and Stanford University in Silicon Valley, which are the top-tier universities in the world. Thanks to the geographical reason, the two universities have participated in the MOT education earlier and are currently operating good education programs for us to benchmark. Especially, those two universities have maintained collaborative relationship with the companies and managements for the sake of the structure, operation, and evaluation of the education programs. The two universities, however, paired with their own reputations, shows many differences in their operation of the MOT education programs. The characteristics and differences of MOT education programs of the two universities will be revealed in this research. Those MOT education programs of the two universities are evaluated as to provide a good insight into the Korean MOT education programs, which have just arisen recently.

그동안 기술경영(MOT) 분야에서는 기술경영의 교육 문제가 그다지 논의되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 기 술경영의 교육 문제를 미국의 Silicon Valley의 세계적인 대학인 University of California-Berkeley와 Stanford University를 중심으로 살펴보기로 한다. 두 대학은 실리콘 밸리에 위치하고 있는 지정학적인 이 유로 인하여 기술경영 교육에 일찍 참여하여, 우리가 벤치마킹할 만한 프로그램을 운영해 오고 있다. 특히 이들 두 대학은 프로그램의 구성, 운영, 평가에 있어서 실리콘 밸리의 기업 및 경영자들과 긴밀한 협력관 계를 유지해 오고 있다. 그러나 두 대학은 각각의 명성에 걸맞게 기술경영 교육 프로그램의 운영에 있어서 많은 차이를 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이들 두 대학 기술경영 교육 프로그램의 특성과 차이 등에 대해 살펴보기로 한다. 이와 같은 두 대학의 교육 프로그램은 최근 새롭게 태동되고 있는 우리나라 기술경영 교 육 프로그램들의 기획 및 운영에 좋은 시사점을 제공해 줄 것으로 평가된다.
