Many local governments are making efforts to maintain the local population. Local settlement intention is closely related to the population outflow of local residents. In the sense, the research on the intention to settle in the region has an important meaning. This study compares and analyzes the influence of social factors, cultural factors, health and health factors, and administrative factors on the settlement intention of the youth and the elderly in local areas. For the purpose of this study, the 2018 Daegu Metropolitan City social survey data are used. The results of the study are as follows. First, in the case of young people, it was found that the pride in their regions, satisfaction with medical services, satisfaction with local civil service, and satisfaction with cultural and artistic facilities had an effect on local settlement intention. Second, in the case of the elderly, it was found that pride in the region, satisfaction with medical services, satisfaction with civil service, and satisfaction with welfare policies had an important influence on local settlement intention. It shows that the factors affecting the settlement intention of the local youth and the elderly are different. The results of this study are expected to help local governments provide appropriate policies, systems, and programs for age groups that can help local residents improve their local settlement intention.

많은 지방자치단체에서 지역 인구의 유지를 위한 노력을 하고 있다. 지역의 정주의사는 지역 주민들의 인구 유출과 밀접하게 관련이 있다. 이런 점에서 지역의 정주의사에 관한 연구는 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 본 연구는 사회적 요인, 문화적 요인, 건강 및 보건 요인, 행정적 요인이 지역 청년층과 장년층의 정주의사에 미치는 영향력을 비교하여 분석한다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 2018년 대구광역시 사회조사 데이터를 활용한다. 연구 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청년층의 경우에는 지역에 대한 자긍심, 의료서비스 만족 도, 민원서비스 만족도, 문화예술시설 만족도가 지역의 정주의사에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 장년층의 경우에는 지역에 대한 자긍심, 의료서비스 만족도, 민원서비스 만족도, 복지시책 만족도가 지역의 정주의사에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 지역 청년층과 장년층의 정주의사에 미치는 영향요인이 다르다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 본 연구 결과는 지방자치단체가 지역 주민의 정주의사 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있는 연령대에 적절한 정책, 제도 및 프로그램을 제공하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
