Dongju(東州) Lee Min-gu(李敏求) was one of the representative literary figures in mid-Joseon, and he left a vast amount of Chinese poetry and prose up to 2,400 pieces even when those that got burnt in the Manchu Invasion of Korea are not considered. Within the flow of the poetic atmosphere favoring Tang Poetry(唐詩), he was deeply interested in Tang Poetry with the influence of his father, Jibong(芝峯) Lee Soo-gwang(李睟光), and among them, he admired the poetry written by Du Fu referred to as a Poetic Saint(詩聖) the most. Up until now, research on Dongju literature has been conducted in multilateral ways; however, there is lack of research on the origin of Hak Si(學 詩) and the style of his poetry. This thesis is written to reveal that the origin of Dongju’s Chinese poetry is grounded on Tang Poetry, and in particular, he leaned towards Du Fu’s poetry(杜詩). First, when writing poems, Dongju borrowed Du Fu’s poetic words and used them in his poems just as they were or modified them. He used Du Fu’s verse as a rhyme and gave variety to it to write old poems, or he took each individual letter as a rhyme to compose Jeolgu(絶句) serial poems. Second, Dongju followed the form of Du Fu’s serial poetry, ｢Donggokchilga (同谷七歌) ｣ to write ｢Cheolseongchilga(鐵城七歌)｣ to recite the reality of his exile, and borrowing his rhymes to write five-word old poems, he encouraged learning to his disciples and let them know of the preciousness of everyday life. Yongju(龍洲) Cho-Gyeong(趙絅) highly praised Dongju saying that he acquired Du Fu’s poetry genuinely and surpassed the level of imitating his phrases merely to reach the state of a Poetic God(詩神) transformed completely and newly. Also, Lee Gyeong-yu(李景儒), the later generation, evaluated that Dongju’s poems are similar to Du Fu’s. Examining all the criticism above here, this researcher acknowledges that Dongju took Du Fu’s poetry as an example in terms of Hak Si and followed it, which allowed his Chinese poetry to achieve its own unique status after all.

東州李敏求는 조선 중기의 대표적인 문인으로, 병자호란에 불타 사 라진 것을 제외해도 2,400여 수나 되는 방대한 양의 한시와 그 외 산문 을 남겼다. 唐詩를 선호하는 시풍의 흐름 속에 부친 芝峯李睟光의 영향 을 받아 당시에 깊은 관심을 가졌는데, 그중에서도 詩聖이라 불리는 杜 甫의 시를 가장 숭상하였다. 그동안 동주 문학에 대한 연구는 다방면으 로 이루어졌으나 學詩연원시를 바탕으로 삼고 있으며, 특히 杜詩에 경 도되어 있음을 밝과 시풍에 대한 연구는 미진한 편이다. 본고는 동주 한 시의 연원이 당히기 위해 수용 양상을 살펴보았다. 첫째 동주는 作詩과정에서 두보의 시어를 차용하여 자기의 시에 그 대로 활용하거나 변형하여 사용하였다. 두보의 시구를 韻字로 삼아 換 韻해 가며 古詩로 짓거나 한 글자씩 운자로 삼아 絶句連作詩를 짓기도 하였다. 둘째, 두보의 5언 고시에 차운하여 제자에게 학문을 권면하고 일상생활의 소중함을 시로 남겼다. 셋째, 동주는 두보의 연작시 ｢同谷七 歌｣의 형식을 그대로 본받아 ｢鐵城七歌｣를 지어 자신의 고달픈 유배 현 실을 읊었다. 동주가 이와 같이 두시에 경도되어 시 창작에 매진한 결과, 龍洲趙絅 은 동주가 두시를 제대로 학습하여 字句를 모방하는 수준을 뛰어넘어 새롭게 換骨奪胎하는 詩神의 경지에 올랐다고 극찬하였으며 후대의 李 景儒도 동주의 시가 두보와 비슷하다고 평가하였다. 이러한 비평은 본 고에서 살펴본 바 동주가 학시에 있어서 두시를 典範으로 삼고 숭상하 여 동주의 한시가 독자적 경지를 이루었음을 인정한 것이다.
