Analysis of the classics is the basic work for the search of political thoughts. This article first examined the current status and tasks of Korean political thought education, focusing on the works of Jeong Do-jeon, which can be called representative classics of Korean political thought. Based on this review, We tried to select Korean classics theoretically and discuss the implementation plan and direction of Korean political ideology education. The field of political thought, a part of political science, requires philosophy, criticism, and historical interpretation and understanding. Because of these methodological characteristics, the lecture using classics is more important in political thought. Classics can be a point of contact between major education and liberal arts education in Korean political science and furthermore, political thought. The lecture using classics on Korean political thought should consider the special characteristics of a small country, and that a careful political analysis of the classics should be prioritized.

고전에 대한 분석은 정치사상에 대한 탐색을 위한 기초 작업이다. 이글은 먼저 한국 정치사상의 대표적인 고전이라 할 수 있는 정도전의 저작들을 중심으로 한국 정치사상 교육의 현황과 과제를 살펴보았다. 이러한 검토를 바탕으로 한국의 고전 들을 시론적으로 선별해 보고, 한국 정치사상 교육의 시행 방안과 방향성을 논의해 보고자 하였다. 정치학의 한 파트인 정치사상 분야는 철학과 비판, 역사학적 해석과 이해를 필 요로 한다. 이러한 방법론 특성 때문에 정치사상은 더욱 고전 교육이 중요하다. 고 전은 한국 정치학, 나아가 정치사상의 전공 교육과 교양 교육의 접점이 될 수 있다. 한국 정치사상의 고전 교육은 약소국으로서의 특수성에 대해 고려해야 하며, 고전에 대한 면밀한 정치학적 분석 작업이 선결되어야만 한다.
