This study aims to develop fashion illustrations reinterpreting the material techniques and expression styles of Leisa Rich Textile Art. Furthermore, based on analysis of original techniques and expressions of Leisa Rich works, it aims to produce fashion illustration works of various textures that can differentiate from traditional illustrations. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, Leisa Rich expressed utopia by interpreting individual experiences and social themes in the organic form of nature. Second, she showed a sense of depth by expressing continuous and relational space with transparent and opaque overlaps. Additionally, various techniques and materials were used at once on one screen and new textures were created with bold primary colors. Third, fashion illustration works based on the characteristics of her work technique were delicately described by expressing the form like drawing using machine embroidery and hand embroidery. Fourth, the overlap of various materials and techniques enabled the unique texture of the work and showed a characteristic of giving a sense of depth of space in the face. Fifth, the combination of faces and lines through coloration, and the use of shiny and transparent colors made the unique effects of texture maximized. Finally, based on the trend of beauty illustration, my face illustration in this study using various texture expressions can be categorized as beauty illustration.

본 연구는 캐나다 섬유예술가 레이사 리치 섬유예술의 조형적 특성을 바탕으로 소재 기법과 표현양식을 응용한 패션일러스트레이션을 개발하는 작품 연구이다. 연구 내용으로 레이사 리치의 삶과 평면작품을 중심 으로 구성요소를 분석하여 그녀 작품의 독창적인 기법과 표현방식에 대한 조형적 특성을 분석한다. 이를 바 탕으로 종전의 일러스트레이션과 차별화될 수 있는 다양한 질감의 부조적 입체 표현의 패션일러스트레이션 작품을 완성한다. 이 연구의 결론으로 첫째, 레이사 리치는 개인의 경험과 사회적 주제를 자연의 유기적 형태 로 해석하여 섬유 재료의 선적 표현을 통해 유토피아를 표현하였다. 둘째, 그녀는 투명한 중첩과 불투명한 중첩으로 공간을 표현하였고 이는 연속적, 관계적 공간을 창조하여 깊이감을 보여주었음을 확인하였다. 또한 다양한 기법을 한 화면에 복합적으로 이용해 독특한 질감을 나타내었다. 다양한 기법과 재료의 맥시멀리즘은 그녀의 작품에 일상적이지 않은 새로운 질감을 창조해내었다. 색채는 자율성을 지닌 그녀의 표현 수단이고 과감한 원색의 배색 기법을 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 그녀의 조형적 특성을 기반으로 작품 일부의 표현 방법과 디테일 표현 위주로 응용하여 제작한 패션일러스트레이션 작품은 기계자수와 손자수를 이용하여 선 의 두께와 굵기 차이를 통해 드로잉하듯 형태를 표현하고 섬세한 묘사가 가능하였다. 넷째, 여러 재료와 기법 의 중첩은 작품의 독특한 질감의 시각 효과를 가능하게 하였고 얼굴 내 공간의 깊이감을 더해주는 특징을 보였다. 다섯째, 일부 디테일의 색채 표현에 있어 배색을 통한 색면과 색선의 조합, 반짝이는 색과 투명한 색의 사용으로 독특한 질감 효과를 더욱 극대화할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 뷰티일러스트레이션의 경향에 근거 해 볼 때 얼굴표현을 중심으로 다양한 질감 표현을 시도한 본 작품의 범주 역시 뷰티일러스트레이션에 속할 수 있음을 보여주었다.
