This study is a research relationship to identify the relationship between illness perception, competence, and self care behavior in middle-aged hypertensive patients. The participants are 199 patients diagnosed with hypertension by doctor. Data analysis was performed using SPSS, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient. As a result of the study, illness perception was significantly correlated with competence(r=-.59, p<.001) and self care behavior(r=-.64, p<.001), and competence was significantly correlated with self care behavior(r=.60, p <.001). If the participants' illness perception is positive, competence is enhanced, and interventions that promote self care behavior are applied to middle-aged hypertensive patients, there will be consequences for blood pressure control and complication prevention.

본 연구는 중년기 고혈압 환자의 질병인식, 유능성 및 자가간호행위 간의 관련성을 파악하기 위한 상관 관계 연구이다. 연구대상자는 고혈압을 진단 받은 199명이고, 자료분석은 SPSS 22.O을 이용하여 t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient를 하였다. 연구결과 일반적 특성, 질병관련 특성에 따른 질병인식, 유능성 및 자가간호행위의 유의한 차이는 없고, 질병인식과 유능성(r=-.59, p<.001), 질병인식과 자가간호행위(r=-.64, p<.001), 유능성과 자가간호행위(r=.60, p<.001)는 유의한 상관관계를 나타냈다. 따라서, 대상자의 질병인식이 긍적적이고, 유능성과 자가간호행위가 증진될 수 있는 중재를 중년기 고혈압 환자에게 적용한다면 혈압 조절
과 합병증 예방에 효과적일 것이다.
