Alexandria Cyril was the one who defended Christian orthodoxy from Nestorianism. Eventually, his theology was confirmed by the Council of Ephesians in 431 as orthodox theology. Although his life may be negatively evaluated, his theology is orthodox theology. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to study the interpretation methodology, which is the source of his theology. This study will study Cyril's interpretation methodology through the annotation of Cyril's Matthew 1:1-25. As a result, Cyril's five interpretation methodologies will be identified in this study. His interpretation methodologies are contrast, typology, allegory, Paul theological interpretation, and theological interpretation. And I will evaluate this methodology. Through this, I hope that the research on the interpretation methodology of Cyril and the church fathers will become more active and open the horizon of modern interpretation methods.

알렉산드리아 키릴은 그리스도의 신성에 대한 강조와 그의 신성과 인 성의 동일성을 강조함으로써 기독교 역사에서 네스토리우스 주의를 몰아 내고 431년 에베소 공의회를 통해 그의 신학을 정통신학으로 확립시킨 중요한 인물이다. 비록 그의 생애에 대한 부정적인 평가가 있을지라도 그 의 신학 자체에 대한 평가는 정통신학과 신앙을 대변하는 것만은 확실한 사실이다. 그렇다면 그의 신학의 뿌리가 되는 성경해석 방법론은 무엇이 었는지를 연구하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이다. 따라서 본 논문은 키릴의 마태복음 주석 가운데 1장을 중심으로 나타나는 그의 해석 방법론에 대 한 연구를 진행한다. 이 연구를 통해서 키릴의 해석 방법론의 다섯 가지 방식인, 대조 방식, 모형론적 방식, 알레고리적 방식, 바울신학적 해석 방 식, 신학적 해석 방식의 방법론을 사용하고 있음을 밝힐 것이다. 또한 이 러한 해석 방식을 현대 해석 방법론적 관점에서 평가함으로써 키릴의 해석 방법론에 대한 전체적인 평가를 진행한다. 이를 통해서 키릴과 나아가 고대의 교부들의 해석 방법론에 대한 연구가 더욱 활발하게 진행되고 현 대 해석 방법에 지평을 여는 계기가 되기를 기대한다.
