Looking at the status of semantic classification in various language dictionaries, translation examples, and composition examples of Korean Japanese learners, the Korean verb “chida” can be said, in general, to have a corresponding relationship with the Japanese verb “utsu”. These two verbs have various meanings in their respective languages, and in some cases, the meanings correspond to each other. Due to multiple usages and meanings of these verbs, wrong usage of these verbs occurs when the Korean Japanese learners use Japanese based only on their vocabulary. In the present paper, such misuse of the verbs have been discussed taking specific examples from the compositions written by intermediate or higher Korean Japanese learners. In addition, the measures to prevent such misuse have also been suggested. After examining the causes and aspects of misuse of these verbs, it was found that the main reason for the misuse is direct translation without considering the context or implications of the words. To prevent such error, the specific meaning of a sentence should be understood and the verb can be converted into a different expression before replacing it.

각종 언어사전의 의미 분류 현황이나 번역 예, 한국인 일본어 학습자들의 작문 예 등을 살펴보면 한국어 동사 「chida(치다)」는 일반적으로 일본어 동사 「うつ」와 상호 대 응관계에 있다고 할 수 있다. 이들 두 동사는 각각의 언어 속에서 다양한 의미를 나타내 는 동사들인데 이들 중에는 일반적으로 상호 대응관계에 있는 것으로 여겨지는 경우와 그렇지 않은 경우의 의미가 있다. 후자의 경우에는 특히 한국인 일본어 학습자들이 학 습한 어휘적 지식을 바탕으로 일본어를 사용하는 경우 오용이 나타나기 쉬운 부분이다. 본고에서는 중급 학습 수준의 한국인 일본어 학습자들이 작성한 작문 예를 가지고 이러 한 경우 어휘표현 상의 오용이 어떠한 양상으로 나타나는지 그 구체적인 예를 관찰하고 이러한 오용을 막기 위한 방책에 대해 고찰하였다. 이들 동사들의 사용에 대한 오용의 원인과 양상을 고찰한 결과, 한국인 일본어 학습자들의 오용의 큰 원인은 가장 기본적 인 의미로서 서로 대응관계에 있다고 학습한 어휘에 대해 문맥이나 내포하는 의미에 대해 고려하지 않고 표면적인 직역을 하는 점에 있다는 사실을 파악할 수 있었다. 따라 서 이러한 오류를 방지하기 위한 방법으로서 작문을 수행하기 전에 한국어 동사 「chida (치다)」가 문장 속에서 나타내는 구체적인 의미가 무엇인지 살피고 이를 대체할 수 있 는 구체적인 다른 표현으로 만든 후 이를 일본어 표현으로 옮기게 하는 방법이 오용을 줄이는데 있어 유효하다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.
