The purpose of this study is to present a plan to improve the special health examination of Korea Coast Guard Officers for systematic and meticulous health protection and maintenance so that they can perform their duties smoothly. To this end, the current status of the special health examination operation of Korea Coast Guard was analyzed, and through the review of special health examination operation cases of domestic related organizations, supplementation of examination items and institutional improvements were derived. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that it is necessary to evaluate the health impact of the work environment in order to supplement a clear analysis of harmful factors by workplace in relation to special health examination items and appropriate measurement items, and supplementary points for the endocrine system-related test items were suggested. In addition, the special health examination should be conducted for all Korea Coast Guard Officers in consideration of rotational positions, rather than limiting the special health examination to working positions within the last year, and the items, methods, and cycles of special health examinations like related organizations. It was also suggested that these should be reflected in directives and regulations in detail.

이 연구의 목적은 해양경찰이 본연의 업무를 원활히 수행할 수 있도록 체계적이 고 면밀한 건강 보호 및 유지를 위해 해양경찰 특수건강진단의 개선방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 현행 해양경찰의 특수건강진단 운영 현황을 분석하고 국내 유관 기관의 특수건강진단 운영 사례 검토를 통해 검진 항목의 보완 및 제도적 개선점을 도출하였다. 분석 결과 특수건강진단 항목과 관련하여 근무지별 유해인자의 명확한 분석과 그 로 인한 적합한 측정항목을 보완하기 위해 근무환경 건강영향평가가 필요한 점을 확 인하였고, 야간작업 유해인자와 관련하여 수면장애, 위장관계, 내분비계 관련 검사항 목의 보완점을 제시하였다. 또한, 특수건강진단을 최근 1년 이내 현업직으로 한정할 것이 아니라 순환보직을 고려하여 전체 해양경찰공무원을 대상으로 특수건강진단을 해야 하는 점과 유관기관처럼 특수건강진단의 항목, 방법, 주기 등을 훈령이나 규정 에 구체적으로 반영해야 하는 점 역시 제시하였다.
