The meaning symbol of variant form that appear in the Warring States' written words show various changes in different regions or even in the same region. This study uses the as basic data to select those variant forms with various changes in meaning symbol and classify them. So that we can learn about the changing process and find out the regularity and characteristics of it. The regularity and characteristics that appear in the meaning symbol's changing process of the Warring States­character's variant forms can be summarized as follows. Here the regularity of meaning symbol's changing process is discussed in three parts : character's meaning, shape, and pronunciation. In terms of meaning it includes : Similarities in meaning, replacement of opposite meaning symbol, replacement according to semantic category, being replaced by Constituent part or material, replacement of extended meaning, behavior related to people and body parts, and behavior related to objects. In terms of character shape it includes : decorative strokes of the meaning symbol, changes in composition, replacement, assimilation, increase or decrease, interconvertibility, omiting, symbolization. There are not many cases where the meaning symbol is replaced due to the similarity of pronunciation. The characteristics of meaning symbol's changing process includes : various patterns of change, organic connection between different regions, variant forms of the Warring States Period now being used as official letters. This study helps to accurately interpret some variant forms of Warring States­characters that are difficult to decipher, as well as many ancient books and records. This study is expected to help to understand the meaning symbol's changing process of variant forms before and after the Warring States Period.

戰國文字는 당시 복잡한 사회상황의 영향으로 인해 지역별로 다양한 자형의 변화 양상을 보이는데 이는 다른 시대와는 구별되는 특징이기도 하다. 본 논문에서는 ≪戰國文字字形表≫를 기본자료로 삼아 戰國文字 이체자 의부 자형의 변화규칙과 특징을 알아보는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구 절차는 다음과 같다. 먼저 의부의 변화가 다양하게 나타나는 이체자를 선정한 후 이를 유형별로 분류하고 그 변화과정을 살펴보며, 이 과정에서 드러나는 전국문자 의부 자형의 변화규칙과 특징에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 첫째, 戰國文字 異體字 義符 자형의 변화과정에서 나타나는 변화규칙은 의미와 자형 두 부분으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 의미와 관련된 의부 자형의 변화규칙은, 1) 의미의 유사함으로 인한 대체, 2) 의미범주에 따른 대체, 3) 材料와 구성 사물의 대체, 4) 연상되는 의미의 의부 대체, 5) 한자의 의미와 관련된 대체 등 다섯 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 자형과 관련된 의부 자형의 변화규칙은 訛變, 互換, 增加, 省略, 飾筆, 簡化 등으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 의부 자형의 변화 특징은 자형의 변화가 다양하게 나타나고 지역 간 자형이 유기적으로 연결되어 있으며 전국시대의 이체자가 현재는 正字로 쓰이는 경우 등으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 전국문자에 나타나는 이체자 의부 자형의 변화과정과 규칙을 연구하는 것은 전국시대 문자 중 일부 해독이 어려운 이체자를 정확하게 해석하고 이를 토대로 고대의 여러 典籍을 바르게 해석하는 데 꼭 필요한 작업으로 보인다. 동시에 전국문자를 전후로 나타나는 이체자 의부 자형의 변화과정과 특징을 파악하는데도 어느 정도 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.
