Born in Seoul in 1896, Shin guk kwon(Shin Ki-jun) defected to Shanghai in 1916, and devoted his entire life to the independence movement and sports exchange. He participated as an executive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when the Provisional Government of the Republic of Shanghai was established in 1919, and continued to carry out the independence movement as a factor in the provisional government and pastor Son Jeong-do’s son-in-law. In particular, he is a rare Korean who studied physical education in China and the United States. In addition, when China participated in the LA. Olympics in 1932, he served as a member of the Chinese delegation and devoted himself to sports exchanges between Korea and China after liberation. The new standard can be said to be a symbol of the history of cultural and sports exchanges between Korea and China in the modern sports world of Korea and China. The Olympics also achieved temporary peace amid conflicts and conflicts in Northeast Asia. Shin guk kwon’s life is remembered as a diplomatic and independence movement through sports during the imperial era.

신국권(신기준)은 1896년 서울에서 태어나 1916년 상해로 망명한 후 독립운동과 스포츠 교류에 전 생애를 바쳤다. 그는 1919년 상해대한민국임시정부 수립시 외교부 임원으로 참 가하였으며, 그 후에도 임시정부 요인이자 손정도 목사의 사위로 독립운동을 지속적으로 전개하였다. 특히 한국인으로 드물게 중국과 미국에서 체육학 공부를 한 인물이다. 뿐 만 아니라 1932년 중국이 미국 LA올림픽에 참가할 때 중국 대표단의 일원으로 활동하 였으며, 해방 이후 한국과 중국의 스포츠 교류를 위해 헌신한 인물이다. 신국권은 한국 과 중국의 근대 스포츠계에서 한중 양국 문화, 체육 교류사의 상징이라고 할 수 있다. 동북아시아 분쟁과 갈등 속에서 올림픽은 일시적인 평화를 이루기도 했다. 신국권의 생애는 제국주의 시대 스포츠를 통한 외교와 독립운동으로 기억된다.
