The study purposed to reveal the effects of school career education conditions on the job performance of career teachers in elementary schools. For this purpose, a hierarchical regression analysis was conducted using the response data from 400 career teachers in elementary schools from the ‘2021 Elementary and Secondary Career Education Current Status Survey’. The main results of the study were as follows: First, the department in charge of career education had a positive effect on job performance when the complete charge department or career education was the major department, but career education was the minor department had no significant effect. Second, the career education space had a relatively significant positive effect on job performance, a dedicated space or a complex space shared with other functions more than the absence of space. Third, schools that manage the school-level career education council had a relatively positive effect on job performance than schools that did not. Based on results of the study, suggestions related to the job performance of career teachers in elementary schools were presented.

이 연구는 학교 진로교육 여건이 초등학교 진로전담교사의 직무수행에 미치는 영향을 밝히는 데 목 적이 있었다. 이를 위하여 ‘2021 초 ․ 중등 진로교육 현황조사’ 내 초등학교 진로전담교사 400명의 응답 자료를 활용하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 진로교육 담당 부서는 진로교육 전담 부서나 진로교육이 주가 되고 타 업무를 겸하는 경우 직무수행에 정적 영향을 미치고 있었으나, 타 업무가 주가 되고 진로교육을 겸하는 부서는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 둘째, 진로교육 공간은 전용 공간이 있거나 타 기능과 공유하는 복합 공간이 있을수록 공간이 없는 것보다 상대적으로 직무수행에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치고 있었다. 셋째, 학교 단위 진로교육협의회를 운영하 는 학교는 그렇지 않은 학교보다 상대적으로 직무수행에 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 연구 결과에 근 거하여 연구의 마지막에는 초등학교 진로전담교사 직무수행에 관한 제언을 제시하였다.
