The purpose of this study is to analyze the importance and performance level and change of the task of elementary school career teachers, and to identify the priority of the task that needs improvement by conducting an Importance-Performance Gap Analysis (IPGA) based on this. For this purpose, among the results of the survey on the current status of elementary and secondary career education, the importance-performance data surveyed for elementary school career teachers from 2017 to 2021 were used. The main conclusions are as follows. First, the results of the paired t-test between the importance and performance of the task of career teachers in elementary school, regardless of the year, the level of importance of the task was generally higher than the level of the performance. Second, according to the average level of importance and performance level of the task recognized by career teachers in elementary school, regardless of the year, importance, and performance level, all of them were 'planning and organizing school career education' and 'provision of career information and application guidance' were highly ranked. Third, the tasks that need improvement in priority were ‘provision of career information and guidance’ in 2018, ‘provision of career information and guidance’, and ‘career counseling for students’ in 2019. The suggestions are as follows. First, there is a need for continuous research on the tasks required for career teachers in elementary school. Second, in the case of elementary school, since the role of homeroom teachers is also important, it is necessary to conduct related research targeting homeroom teachers as well as career teachers. Third, additional analysis is needed for tasks that are low in importance and performance and need improvement but low necessity.

이 연구는 초등학교 진로전담교사의 직무에 대한 중요도 및 실행도 수준 및 변화를 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 중요도-실행도 차이분석(IPGA)을 실시하여 연도별로 개선이 필요한 직무의 우선순위를 확인 하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 마이크로데이터 통합서비스에서 제공되는 초·중등 진로교육 현황조 사 결과 중, 2017년부터 2021년까지의 초등학교 진로전담교사 대상으로 조사한 중요도-실행도 자료를 활용하였다. 주요한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 진로전담교사 직무에 대한 중요도 및 실행도간의 대용표본 t검정 결과를 보면, 연도 와 상관없이 대체로 직무의 중요도 수준이 실행도 수준보다 더 높았다. 둘째, 초등학교 진로전담교사가 인식하는 직무에 대한 중요도 및 실행도 평균에 따른 순위를 보면, 연도 및 중요도, 실행도에 상관없이 모두 ‘학교 진로교육 기획 및 편성’, ‘진로정보 제공 및 활용 안내’, ‘진로심리검사 실시 및 활용 안내’, ‘진로수업 운영’, ‘진로체험 프로그램의 설계·운영 등이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 우선적으로 개선이 필요 한 직무는 2018년 ‘진로정보 제공 및 활용 안내’, 2019년 ‘진로정보 제공 및 활용 안내’, ‘학생 진로상 담’이었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 제언을 하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 진로전담교사에 필요한 직무에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 초등학교의 경우, 담임교사의 역할도 중요하기 때문에 진로전담교사 뿐만 아니라 담임교사를 대상으로도 관련 연구가 진행될 필요가 있다. 셋째, 중요도 및 실행도도 낮고, 개선은 필요하나 그 필요성이 낮은 직무에 대한 추가적인 분석이 필요하다.
