- This article demonstrates the characteristics of the United Kingdom's technical assistance to South Korea through establishing the Ulsan Institute of Technology in 1970. In the 1960s, the United Kingdom and South Korea conducted development policies through such international organisations as Colombo Plan and International Economic Consultative Organization for Korea. These bodies played a crucial role in conceiving and shaping development assistance by building an academic institution. Ulsan, which housed multiple heavy industry factories, significantly benefited from the United Kingdom's technical assistance.
