The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games on the peace of the Korean Peninsula and its implications from a strategic perspective. The PyeongChang Winter Olympics provided a decisive opportunity for the Moon Jae Inn administration to realize the ‘Korean Peninsula Peace Process’. As a result, the Korean peninsula has been transformed from crisis to stable peace, and this achievement has created a practical model of the peace process that makes peace on the Korean peninsula sustainable. The task of transition to a peace regime on the Korean peninsula that can institutionalize this is: first, substantial improvement of inter-Korean relations; second, upgrading Korea's arbitration capacity; and third, strengthening the capacity of practice-oriented peace and unification.

이 논문은 전략적 관점에서 2018 평창 동계올림픽이 한반도 평화에 미친 영향과 그 함의를 탐구하는 데 있다. 평창 동계올림픽은 문재인 정부의 ‘한반도 평화프로세스’ 실현을 위한 결정적 계기를 제공했다. 이로써 한반도는 위기에서 안정적 평화로 전환되었다. 이것의 성과는 한반도 평화를 지속 가능케 하는 평화프로세스의 실천 모델을 창출했 다. 이를 제도화할 수 있는 한반도 평화체제로의 전환 과제는 첫째, 실 질적인 남북관계 개선 둘째, 한국의 중재 능력 업그레이드 셋째, 실천 지향적 평화·통일의 역량 강화이다.
