The purpose of this paper is to examine Yeon-heon Leeuimu's perception of reality and attitude in life. To this end, Chapter 2 examines Leeuimu's perception of reality and attitude of life in The reign of King Songjong, and Chapter 3 examines Leeuimu's perception of reality and attitude of life in The reign of Yeonsan-gun. The reason why this paper divided The reign of King Songjong and The reign of Yeonsan-gun into two and three chapters is because the political situation of The reign of King Songjong and The reign of Yeonsan-gun has changed, so Leeuimu's political situation and perception of reality have changed. Chapter 2 examines The reg of King Songjong's perception of reality and attitude of life. Leeuimu recognized the political reality of The reg of King Songjong as a peaceful way and actively participated in the reality. This is because Leeuimu had an outstanding talent enough to win first place in three consecutive tests at the palace and was favored by Songjong, who focused on Moon Chi-ism. Leeuimu has been on a roll with The reg of King Songjong, serving in many key positions centered on Hongmungwan. Chapter 3 examines The reg of Yeonsan-gun's perception of reality and attitude of life. Leeuimu negatively recognized the political reality of The reg of Yeonsan-gun. Nevertheless, he continued to participate in reality without turning a blind eye to it or leaving it. After Haebae, when the political situation in the central government office was not favorable, he volunteered to go to Hongju County, a local government office. Leeuimu left the local government office because he thought that both central and local officials would devote themselves to the king and perform the same duties of loyalty and benefiting the people. However, the reason why Leeuimu negatively recognized the reality of The reign of Yeonsan-gun but continued to participate in reality is that Leeuimu had the attitude of Yuhaye's life to participate in reality by straightening his principles without turning a blind eye to dirty reality.

본고는 蓮軒李宜茂의 현실인식과 삶의 태도를 살펴보는데 목적을 두 었다. 이를 위해서 2장에서는 출사이후부터 성종대의 현실인식과 삶의 태도를 살펴보았고, 3장에서는 연산군대부터 홍주목사로 생을 마감할 때까지의 현실인식과 삶의 태도를 살펴보았다. 본고가 2장과 3장으로 장 을 나눠서 살핀 것은 성종대와 연산군대의 정치적 상황과 이의무의 처 지가 다르기 때문에 드러내는 현실인식과 그 대응으로서 삶의 태도가 차이가 있다고 판단했기 때문이다. 2장에서는 출사이후부터 성종대까지의 현실인식과 삶의 태도를 살펴 보았다. 이의무는 성종대의 정치현실을 태평성대로 인식하였고 현실에 적극적으로 참여하고자 하였다. 이는 이의무가 文臣庭試에서 3연속 장 원을 차지할 만큼 뛰어난 문재가 있었고, 文治에 주력한 성종의 知遇를 받았기 때문이다. 성종대 이의무의 관직생활은 홍문관 위주의 청요직을 두루 역임하면서 승승장구하였다. 3장에서는 연산군대부터 홍주목사로 생을 마감할 때까지의 현실인식과 삶의 태도를 살펴보았다. 이의무는 연산군대의 정치현실을 末俗의 現實로 인식하였다. 말속의 현실은 달팽이 뿔과 같은 좁은 땅에서 蠻나라와 觸나 라가 혈투를 벌이듯 서로가 이익을 다투고 시비를 가려서 상대방을 제거 하는 위험한 공간이었다. 좀더 구체적으로는 이의무에게 文才를 펼칠 수 없는 회재불우의 현실이었다고 할 수 있었다. 그럼에도 이의무는 연산군 대의 정치현실을 떠나가지 않고 지속적으로 참여했는데, 이는 이의무가 ‘直道而事人’하는 유하혜의 삶의 태도를 견지했기 때문이다.
