The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of organizational socialization of police organizations on the motives of public service of police officers. Organizational socialization of the police organization was selected as organizational support awareness, leadership, and learning organization by reviewing previous studies. Motivation for public service is that public service workers have a high motivation to serve the country and society. In particular, when it comes to providing security services to the state and citizens, the motive for public service is more important than other organizations. Therefore, in this study, the factors influencing public service motivation of police officers were identified, focusing on organizational sociological factors of police organizations. As a result of the study, it was found that leadership, learning organization, and perceived organizational support had an effect on the motivation of public officials in the order. These research results confirm that the leadership of superiors in police organizations, learning ability to respond to various fields, and appropriate compensation in job performance can improve public service motivation to provide security services for the nation and the people. Based on these research results, we would like to make policy suggestions that can increase public service motivation according to the characteristics of police organizations.

이 연구는 경찰공무원의 공공서비스 동기에 미치는 영향 요인을 파악하고자 하였다. 공공서비스 동기는 조직의 목표 달성에 있어서 중요한 요인으로 행정학 분야 뿐 아니 라 다양한 학문 분야에서 연구가 수행되고있다. 경찰학 분야에서도공공서비스 동기에 관한연구가수행되고 있으나, 일반사회화에따른 공공서비스 동기에 관한연구나공공 서비스 동기가 조직몰입 및 조직성과에 미치는 영향 요인을 파악하는 연구가 대다수이 다. 이에 이 연구에서는 경찰조직의 조직사회학적 요인을 중심으로 경찰공무원의 공공 서비스 동기에 미치는 영향 요인을 파악하였다. 연구결과, 리더십, 학습조직, 조직지원인식순으로공공서비스 동기에영향을미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 연구결과는 경찰조직의 상관의 리더십과 다양한 현장에 대 응할 수 있는 학습능력, 업무 수행에 있어서 적절한 보상 등이 국가와 국민을 위한 치 안서비스를 제공할 수 있는 공공서비스 동기를 향상시킬 수 있는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 경찰조직의 특성에 따른 공공서비스 동기를 증대시킬 수 있 는 정책적 제언을 하고자 한다.
