It can be said that the fact that women are the targets of crimes is emerging as a very big social problem and it can be said that it is a great threat to women's safety. The existence of various factors that threaten women means that women's safety is not secured. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting women's perception of a safe city and to make policy recommendations for women's safety based on this. For the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted on 188 women in their 20s and older residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do and used as the final analysis data. To reduce women's fear of crime and to build a safe society for women, I would like to suggest the following. First, it is the activation of local community police activities. Cooperation and support from the police as well as local governments and citizens should be preemptive for vitalization of local police activities. Second, crime prevention education and strengthening of crime prevention activities. It is necessary to produce various customized programs for detailed crime prevention education than before. In addition, in order to strengthen crime prevention activities, it is necessary to increase the number of police personnel in advance. Third, strengthening the role of local governments. Ultimately, security is no longer the responsibility of the police alone, but the responsibility of society as a whole. Fourth, the reliability of the police is improved. To this end, it is necessary to establish a provisional name for strengthening police reliability in the training course of the Police Human Resources Development Institute for all departments of the police organization, and to strive to improve police reliability.

여성이 범죄의 대상이 되고 있는 것이 매우 큰 사회문제로 대두되고 있다는 것은 여 성의 안전에 대하여 큰 위협을 받고 있다고 할 수 있다. 여성을 위협하는 다양한 요소 들이 존재한다는 것은 여성의 안전에 대한 확보가 되어 있지 않다는 것이라 할 수 있 다. 본 연구는 여성의 안전도시 인식에 미치는 영향요인을 고찰하고 이를 토대로 여성 안전을 위한 정책제언을 하고자 함에 목적이 있다. 이 같은 연구목적을 위해 서울과 경 기지역 거주 20대 이상 여성 188명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 최종 분석자료로 활용하였다. 여성의 범죄두려움 감소와 여성이 안전한 사회 구축을 위해 다음과 같이 제언하고 자 한다. 첫째, 지역사회 경찰활동의 활성화이다. 지역사회 경찰활동의 활성화에 경찰은 물론 지방자치단체 그리고 시민들의 협조 및 지원이 선제적으로 이루어 져야 한다. 둘째, 범죄예방 교육 및 범죄예방 활동의 강화이다. 이전보다는 세부적인 범죄예방 교육을 위한 다양한 맞춤형 프로그램의 제작이 필요하다. 이와 함께 범죄예방 활동의 강화를 위해서는 경찰인력의 증원이 선행되어야 한다. 셋째, 지방자치단체의 역할 강화이다. 결국 치안은 더 이상 경찰만의 몫이 아니라 사 회 전체의 몫이며, 이 가운데 지방자치단체 및 지방의회의 역할 필요성을 의미한다고 할 수 있다. 넷째, 경찰 신뢰도 제고이다. 이를 위해서는 경찰조직 모든 부서를 대상으로 경찰인 재개발원의 교육과정에 가칭 경찰신뢰도 강화 과정을 개설하여 경찰 신뢰도 향상에 노력할 필요가 있다.
