In addition to security activities at sea, maritime police are performing a wide variety of tasks such as protecting marine sovereignty, searching and rescue activities, ship traffic control activities, and pollution control activities. The most important resource in such a maritime police organization will be, above all, an excellent human resource that operates the organization. Therefore, in order to fulfill the goals of the maritime police, the maritime police are making great efforts to find talented human resources and properly exclude ineligible people. The Korea Coast Guard announced the scope of the “Introduction to Maritime Police Sciences” in 2017 in advance, and since then, the “Introduction to Marine Police Sciences” has been selected and operated as a test subject from the 3rd Marine Police Officer Ship Staff Career Recruitment Test in 2018. Since then, marine police officials have been hired through a total of seven recruitment tests for the introduction of marine police studies by the end of 2021. However, the academic diversity of Maritime police science is still not without confusion about its identity, and it can be seen that the introduction of maritime police science as a test subject for the recruitment of maritime police officials is also lacking in systematicity. Therefore, this study collected the questions from the “Introduction to Maritime Police Sciences” in the last four years' recruitment test and identified the suitability of the questions through basic analysis, and further analyzed the trends of the “Introduction to Marine Police Sciences” to be used as basic data for future recruitment tests.

해양경찰은 해상에서의 치안활동뿐만 아니라 해양 주권의 수호, 수색·구조 활동, 선박교통관제 활동 및 오염방제 활동 등 매우 다양한 업무를 수행하고 있다. 이와 같은 해양경찰조직에서 가장 중요한 자원은 무엇보다도 조직을 운영해 나아가는 우 수한 인적 자원일 것이다. 따라서 해양경찰은 해양경찰의 목표를 수행하기 위해, 자 질이 우수한 인적 자원을 찾아내고, 부적격자를 적절히 배제시키기 위해 많은 노력 을 하고 있다. 해양경찰청에서는 2017년도에 ｢해양경찰학개론｣ 출제 범위를 사전에 공지하였으 며, 이후 2018년 제3차 해양경찰공무원 함정요원 경력채용 시험부터 ｢해양경찰학개론｣ 을 시험과목으로 선정하여 운영되고 있다. 이후, 2021년 말까지 총 7번의 해양경찰학 개론 채용시험을 통하여 해양경찰공무원을 채용하고 있다. 그러나 해양경찰학의 학문적 정체성에 대한 혼란이 없다고 할 수 없으며, 해양경 찰공무원 채용 시험과목으로서의 ｢해양경찰학개론｣ 역시 체계성이 부족하다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 최근 4년간 실시한 해양경찰공무원 채용시험에서 출제된 ｢해양경찰학개론｣의 기출문제를 수집하여 기본적인 분석을 통해 문제의 적합성을 파 악하였으며, 나아가 ｢해양경찰학개론｣의 출제경향을 분석하여 향후 바람직한 채용시험이 이루어지기 위한 기초자료로 활용되기 바란다.
