The purpose of this study is to examine the changes in the Department of Creative Writing in the College of Humanities and the plan for the existence of Creative Writing. We look at the changes before and after the integration of the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Dong-A University and the Department of Korean Language and Literature at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Creative Writing, which started as a department unit called the Department of Creative Writing, is reduced to a unit of major lab, and a plan to form a position in the reduced reality is presented. It suggests a method of integrating the subjects of the two areas of theory and practice into one and densely operating them, and a method of driving the continuous learning demand of students who wish to major in creative arts and entering graduate school through close-fitting undergraduate major guidance. Specifically, while examining the reality and operation cases of creative writing education at Dong-A University, which was reorganized into the Department of Korean Language and Literature in the undergraduate department in 2015 and the Department of Korean Language and Literature in the graduate school in 2021, from various angles, focusing on my major, novel creation and research, the position and existence plan of creative writing studies progressing To this end, not only undergraduate and graduate school course development, but also high school summer/winter school program development according to the student-selective high school credit system, development of a program for excavating narrative prototypes of comparative subjects both inside and outside the school, implementation of the research credit system and challenge semester system, which are closely related major systems for undergraduate students, It presents specific cases of development and operation of various creative education programs such as research support for the bachelor’s and master’s degree program and graduate school’s master’s course, and fieldwork at home and abroad. Through these cases accumulated over many years, we reconfirm the foundation of the field of Creative Writing, from high school to college and graduate school, and examine the plan for the existence of Creative Writing while seeking a new base expansion.

본 연구는 인문대학 소속 문예창작학과의 변화와 문예창작학의 존립 방안에 대한 점검을 목적으로 한다. 동아대학교 학부 한국어문학과와 일반대학원 인문사회계열 한국어문학과의 통합 이전과 이후 변화 양상을 살펴본다. 문예창작학과라는 학과 단위에서 출발한 문예창작학이 전공랩 단위로 축소되고, 축소된 현실에서 입지를 형성해나가는 방안을 개진한다. 이론과 실습 두 영역의 교과목을 하나로 통합하여 밀도 있게 운용하는 방법과 밀착형 학부 전공 지도를 통해 창작 전공 희망 학생의 지속적인 학습 요구와 대학원 진학을 견인하는 방법을 제시한다. 구체적으로 2015년 학부 한국어문학과와 2021년 대학원 한국어문학과로 개편된 동아대학교 한국어문학과의 문예창작 교육 현실과 운영 사례를 필자의 전공인 소설 창작과 연구를 중심으로 다각도로 살펴보면서 문예창작학의 위치와 존립 방안을 개진해나간다. 이를 위해 학부와 대학원의 교과목 개발은 물론 학생 선택형 고교학점제에 따른 고교섬머/윈터스쿨 참여 및 프로그램 개발, 교내외 비교과 서사 원형 발굴 프로그램 개발, 학부생의 밀착형 전공 심화 제도인 연구학점제와 도전학기제 시행, 학부생의 학석사연계과정 및 대학원 석사과정 진학을 위한 연구지원과 국내외 필드워크 등의 다양한 창작 교육 운영 사례를 구체적으로 제시한다. 다년간 축적해온 사례들을 통해 고교와 대학, 대학원에 이르는 문예창작 전공 영역의 토대를 재확인하고, 새로운 저변 확대를 모색하면서, 문예창작학의 존립 방안을 점검한다.
