“We are the last Romantics,” Yeats said much avowedly in regard to his romantic worldview and poetic patterns. His poetry is an attribute of his nature, a subjectivity that is distinctly surrealistic and personal to reveal his earthly senses and passions towards love, frustrations, and nationalism. His nature has been modeled against Wordsworthian tradition, not pantheistic but wonder-surprising and recognition of spirit, supernatural elements, and its dawdling beauty of nature. The presence of conscious anima mundi, his solace in the cultural unification and unity of Being is manifest romanticism. The celebration of Ireland and mythic imagination are exploited to the fullest extent ‘hammering thoughts together’ by Yeats, he could generate distinct literary and poetic traditions for modern poetry but also the Irish literary traditions and history. Yeats presented a sumptuous synergy of realism with imagination derived from the occult and history, visionary and mystic type, the conflicting selves, and nationalism and religion.
