This study calculates and quantifies indirect emissions for six items of the EU CBAM(Carbon Border Adjustment System) scheduled to be implemented between 2026 and 2027 after a transition period of 2 to 2 years, and examines the impact thesewill have on Korea's trade.Most of the target items, such as steel, aluminum, fertilizer, cement, electricity, and hydrogen, do not appear to have a significant impact from the implementation of CBAM in terms of indirect emissions. However, since steel products production uses relatively more coal in the blast furnace process, direct emissions are expected to increase carbon emissions by more than three times compared to indirect emissions. In conclusion, it was identified that the indirect emissions of CBAMtarget items weremostly insignificantly affected by the power plant's energy mix. It is judged that the decarbonization efforts of power plants in the future will influence the competitiveness of companies that produce products.

대상품목인 철강, 알루미늄, 비료, 시멘트, 전기, 수소 중 대부분은 간접배출량 관점에서는 CBAM시행으로 큰 영향이 없는 것으로 나타난다. 그러나 철강제품생산은 상대적으로 고로공정에서 석탄을 이용하는 방식을 더 많이 사용하므로 직접배출이 간접배출에 비해 탄소발생이 3배이 상 증가할 것으로 예견되었다. 결론적으로 CBAM대상품목에 대한 간접배출량이 대부분 미미한 영향을 받는 것으로 나온 것은 발전소의 에너지 믹스의 영향으로 파악되었다. 향후 발전소의 탈탄소 노력은 그것을 받아 상품을 생산하는 기업의 경쟁력을 좌우할 것으로 판단한다.
