Until now, a large military budget has been invested in the field of military mental power, focusing on cultivating the rapidly changing security environment and soldiers' mental power. The reality is that the education satisfaction with unification education, such as military speciality and the enlistment and discharge of (MZ generation) soldiers, is not very satisfied. Through national and international efforts along with the slogan of "permanent peace," the international situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula over the past few years has experienced great changes as if riding a roller coaster. This study examines the importance and necessity of unification education from the past to the present security situation, regardless of political bias in the reality of unification education and the rapidly changing security situation. In addition, the educational method was emphasized to find effective measures and directions from the question of "Why should unification education be conducted?" so that uniform and cramming education can proceed with future-oriented education, not abstract education.

그동안 군 정신전력분야에 많은 군(軍) 예산을 투입하여 급변하고 있는 안보환경 과 장병정신전력을 함양에 중점을 두고 교육해 왔으며 군 특수성과 순환되는 (MZ세 대)장병의 입대 및 전역 등 통일교육에 대한 교육만족도는 크게 만족하지 못하고 있는 현실을 직시하였고 ‘항구적 평화’의 구호 아래 국가와 국제적인 노력을 통해 지난 몇 년간 한반도를 둘러싼 남북의 통일을 향한 국제정세는 롤러코스터를 타듯 이 큰 굴곡의 변화를 경험하였다. 그래서 본 연구는 장병들에게 통일교육의 우리군 의 현주소와 급변하는 안보상황 속에서 정치적 편향성을 떠나 현 안보상황과 과거 로부터 현재까지 통일교육에 대한 중요성과 필요성이 무엇인지 소고해 보고 교육방 식 또한 과거 정신교육의 일환으로 진행되듯 획일적이고 주입식교육에서 추상적인 교육이 아닌 미래지향적인 교육이 진행되도록 ‘왜 통일교육을 해야 하는가?’에 대한 의문에 서부터 효과적인 방안과 방향을 찾고자 노력하였다.
