The security situation in Northeast Asia is fluctuating so roughly that it is difficult to gauge its direction and size, and it is difficult for anyone to predict what the consequences will be in the end. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly read the nature and direction of changes in the security environment, identify threats to the security of the Republic of Korea, and provide a foothold to establish a national security strategy to prepare for the security situation and threats in Northeast Asia over the next 20 years. For the purpose of the study, first, it aims to accurately read the reality of changes in the security environment that can have a profound impact on Korean security by 20 years, define its implications, determine the relationship changes of substructures, and derive threats to Korean security to secure long-term national security strategy. Finally, I would like to set a task at the strategic level necessary to establish a long-term future strategy for Korean security according to the derivation of the analyzed threat factors and present its direction. As a result, it is necessary for the state to promote national policies while maintaining consistency and continuity with a direct systematic, organized, mid- to long-term perspective.

동북아 안보상황은 그 방향과 크기를 가늠하기 어려울 정도로 거칠게 요동치고 있으며 종국에 가서는 어떠한 결과를 초래하게 될지 누구도 예측하기가 어려운 상황이 지속되고 있다. 이에 안보 환경 변화의 본질과 향방을 분명히 읽어 내고 대한민국의 안보에 대한 위협요인을 식별한 후 향후 20년의 동북아 안보상황과 위협에 대비하기 위한 국가안보 대 전략을 수립할 수 있도록 그 발판을 제공할 필요가 있다. 이에 연구의 목적으로 첫째, 향후 20년까지 한국안보에 심대한 영향을 미칠 수 있는 안 보환경 변화의 실체를 정확히 판독하여 인식의 틀을 제공하고 그 함의를 규정하고 둘째, 안보상황의 변화로부터 촉발될 수 있는 하부구조들의 관계변화 양상을 판단하고 한국 안 보에 대한 위협요인을 도출하여 장기적인 국가 안보전략 판단의 준거를 확보하고자 한다. 마지막으로 분석된 위협요인 도출에 따른 한국안보의 장기적인 미래 전략을 세우는 데 필 요한 대전략 수준의 과제를 설정하고 그 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 이로써 국가가 직접 체계적이고 조직적이며 중·장기적 안목을 가지고 일관성 및 계속 성을 유지하면서 국가정책을 추진해 나갈 필요가 있겠다.
