The purpose of this thesis is to theologically analyze and evaluate the background of five practical models of the missional church that appeared mainly in Western society after the 20th century, their characteristics and commonalities, and their impact on Christianity and the church. What these five models have in common is that they are based on the missional ecclesiology, pursue holistic faith and ‘radical Christianity’ in everyday life, develop their ministries in innovative ways, and emphasize discipleship, community, and the spirit of the incarnation. Each model has its own characteristics, but also overlaps with others. Except for the apostolic church and the new monastic communities, three are closely related to church planting work. Most of these practice models, which are being developed as grassroots movements away from the traditional established churches, can be an indicator of the healthy development of modern Christianity.

본 논문은 20세기 이후 서구 사회를 중심으로 나타난 선교적 교회의 다섯 가지 실천 모델을 신학적으로 정리하고, 각 모델의 발생 배경, 고유한 특성과 공통점, 기독교와 교회에 미치는 영향을 중심으로 분석, 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이들의 공통점은 선교적 교회론에 기초하고 있고, 일 상에서 통전적 신앙과 ‘철저한 기독교’를 추구하며, 혁신적인 방식으로 사 역을 전개하고, 제자도, 공동체성, 성육신적 정신을 강조하는 데 있다. 각 각의 운동은 저마다의 특성이 있으면서도 다른 모델들과 겹치기도 한다. 사도적 교회와 새로운 수도원 공동체들을 제외한 세 가지는 교회 개척 사 역과 관련이 깊다. 대부분 전통적인 기성 교회에서 벗어난 풀뿌리 운동으 로 전개되고 있는 이 실천 모델들은 현대 기독교의 건강한 발전을 가늠할 수 있는 지표가 될 수 있다.
