The purpose of this article is to analyze the linguistic characteristics included in the recently introduced text Yesasohak. Yesasohak is the book that selected and translated the articles regarding women from the main text of Sohak based on Eceysohakenhay, the most influential translation of Sohak during the Chosun dynasty, and the corresponding commentary in Sohakceykacipcu. This book was translated by an editor who was born in Changnyeong of west Gyeongnam province in the early 20th century, and it provides the phonology, morpho-syntax, and vocabulary of the dialect in a clear manner. The language of Nyeosashohyak was examined and, when necessary, compared to the dialect survey data collected from speakers born at the same time as the book's editor. As a consequence of the examination, we are able to understand the phonology of the Changnyeong dialect in the early 20th century and the editor's phonological knowledge. In particular, the grammatical forms of the dialect that have not appeared in other sources are included to demonstrate the dialect's consistent evolution. These data indicate that Yesasohak is an essential resource for understanding the west Gyeongnam dialect in the early twentieth century.

이 글의 목적은 새로운 국어학 자료인 『여사소학』에 드러난 언어 양상을 국어학적 으로 분석하는 데 있다. 『여사소학』은 『어제소학언해』를 저본으로 하여 『小學』의 본 문에서 여성과 관련된 부분과 그에 해당하는 『소학제가집주』의 주석을 발췌․번역한 것이다. 이 책의 번역은 20세기 초 경상남도 창녕에서 출생한 편집자에 의해 이루어 진 것으로, 해당 방언의 음운․문법․어휘를 선명히 드러내고 있다. 필요한 부분에서 는 비슷한 시기에 출생한 화자들로부터 얻어진 방언 조사 자료와 비교하며 『여사소학』의 언어를 검토하였다. 검토 결과, 20세기 초 창녕 방언의 음운론적 상태와 편자의 음운론적 인식을 엿볼 수 있었으며, 무엇보다 자료의 제약으로 인해 찾아보기 힘들었 던 20세기 초 창녕 방언의 여러 가지 문법 형태들이 포함되어 있어 현대 경남 방언과 의 연속성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 사실은 『여사소학』이 20세기 초 경남 서부 방 언을 보여주는 소중한 자료임을 말해준다.
