This study investigated the current status of music therapy at out-of-school youth support centers and the perceptions of center workers, and later suggested the development and direction of music therapy areas for out-of-school youth. This study conducted a survey of workers in the out-of-school youth support center and analyzed 152 data. The research results are as follows. First, it was found that the implementation rate of music therapy for out-of-school adolescents was low, but workers were aware of the need for music therapy. In particular, when music therapy was performed, psychological and emotional support was expected for out-of-school youth. Second, it was found that there was a significant difference in the perception of music therapy among workers according to the implementation of music therapy by the out-of-school youth support center. For support center workers, music therapy is still a strange and unfamiliar field, and this has the same context as the response that showed that they lacked experience in music therapy. These lack of awareness and experience of workers also affects the implementation of music therapy at out-of-school youth support centers, raising the need for music therapy programs to expand and promote the field of music therapy and psycho-emotional support for out-of-school youth. In addition, the results of this study are meaningful in raising the possibility of combining music therapy with out-of-school youth by providing basic data to music therapists who want to perform music therapy for out-of-school youth in the future.

본 연구는 학교 밖 청소년 지원센터에서의 음악치료 현황과 센터 종사자들의 인식에 대해 알아보고, 이후 학교 밖 청소년을 대상으로 하는 음악치료 영역에서 실질적인 적용에 대한 정 보를 제공하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 전국 220개 학교 밖 청소년 지원센터 내 종사자들을 대상 으로 설문 조사를 실시하였으며, 이중 152명의 응답을 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교 밖 청소년을 대상으로 한 음악치료의 시행률이 낮은 것으로 나타났으나, 종사자들 은 음악치료의 필요성을 인식하고 있었다. 특히, 음악치료를 시행할 경우, 학교 밖 청소년에게 심리 정서적인 지원을 기대하고 있었다. 둘째, 학교 밖 청소년 지원센터의 음악치료 시행 여부 에 따른 종사자들의 음악치료의 인식도는 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 음악치료 시행기관이 미시행기관에 비해 음악치료 인식이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 기관에서 음악치 료를 시행하지 않는 이유로는 음악치료의 인식 부족이라고 응답하였다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 학교 밖 청소년 대상 음악치료를 시행하고자 하는 음악치료사들뿐만 아니라 관련 전문인들에 게 기초자료를 제공하여 학교 밖 청소년 대상으로 음악치료 영역을 확대하고 현장에 적용할 수 있는 실질적인 프로그램 개발 등의 가능성을 제시하는데 의의가 있다.
