This study is a narrative study conducted to in-depth explore the ‘relationship building’ experience of visiting education instructors in multicultural families. Participants in the study are two women who have worked as visiting education instructors for the first generation at the A Multicultural Family Center in Incheon for more than 12 years. Data collection was conducted four in-depth interviews from January to March 2022. As a result of the study, the experience of establishing a relationship with a visiting education instructor was derived as ‘building a joint relationship with a multicultural family center and colleagues’, ‘building a coexistence relationship with married migrant women’, and ‘building an inclusive relationship with children of multicultural families’. According to the above research results, it was suggested to support visiting education instructors to form and strengthen a community of practice, conduct a full-scale survey on the role conflict and psychological exhaustion of visiting education instructors, and expand the area of conservative education to cultivate relationship-oriented capabilities. Based on this, it was confirmed that policies and programs based on relationship building between solidarity, coexistence, and inclusion are necessary to move toward coexistence and communication in a multicultural society. Through this, it is expected to broaden the understanding of the relationship building experience of visiting education instructors in multicultural families and provide implications for moving toward a multicultural society of coexistence and communication.

본 연구는 다문화가정 방문교육지도사의 ‘관계맺기’ 경험을 심층적으로 탐색하기 위 하여 실시된 내러티브 연구이다. 연구참여자는 인천시 소재 A 다문화가족센터에서 1 세대 방문교육지도사로 12년 이상 근무한 2명의 여성이다. 자료수집은 2022년 1월부 터 3월까지 총 4회에 걸쳐 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 방문교육지도사의 관계 맺기 경험은 ‘다문화가족센터 및 동료와의 연대적 관계맺기’, ‘결혼이주여성과의 공존의 관계맺기’, ‘다문화가족 아동과의 포용적 관계맺기’로 도출되었다. 이상의 연구결과에 따라, 방문교육지도사의 실천공동체 형성과 강화를 위한 지원, 방문교육지도사의 역할 갈등과 심리적 소진에 대한 지원, 방문교육지도사의 관계지향적 역량 함양을 위한 보 수교육 영역확대를 제언하였다. 이를 바탕으로 다문화사회에서 공존과 소통으로 나아 가기 위해서는 연대, 공존, 포용의 관계맺기에 기반한 정책 및 프로그램이 필요함이 확 인되었다. 이를 통해 다문화가정 방문교육지도사의 관계맺기 경험에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히고, 공존과 소통의 다문화사회로 나아가기 위한 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
