This article examines the characteristics and meanings of and , which were serialized in culture page in the 1920s. The Dong-A Ilbo implemented various reader participation systems in terms of securing readers. One of them is and . In the 1920s, research on Joseon’s history and folklore was conducted for the purpose of colonial management by the Governor-General of Joseon. To overcome this, the Dong-A Ilbo conducted a method of discovering and introducing the history, folklore, and culture of Joseon through the participation of the “Joseon people”. The two serials are important in that they are examples of the establishment of archives in the history and folklore of Japanese colonial era, in that they can see various cultures, folklore, and customs throughout Joseon that were not covered by the Governor-General of Joseon or folklore in the 1920s. In the future, it is necessary to study the Dong-A Ilbo by paying attention to this perspective.

이 글은 1920년대 <동아일보> 문화면에 연재되었던 <내 고을 명물(1926.6.26∼1927.3.6)>과 <내 고장의 풍속 습관 (1927.1.15.∼1927.3.28)>의 성격과 의미를 살펴본 것이다. <동아일보>는 독자 확보의 측면에서 다양한 독자 참여 제도를 시행했었다. 그 사례의 하나가 <내 고을 명물>과 <내 고장의 풍속 습관>이다. 1920년대 조선의 역사와 민속학 연구는 조선총독부에서 주관하여 식민지 경영의 목적으로 진행되었다. <동아일보>에서는 이를 극복하기 위해 ‘조선인’의 참여를 통해 조선의 역사, 민속, 문화를 발굴하고 소개하는 방법을 시행했다. 두 연재물은 1920년대 조선총독부 등에서 다루지 못했던 조선의 다양한 역사, 민속, 문화 등을 볼 수 있다는 점, 일제강점기의 대표적인 역사, 민속의 아카이브 구축의 사례라는 점에서 중요하다. 차후 이러한 관점에 주목하여 일제강점기의 신문 자료를 연구할 필요가 있다.
