Cyberspace is the virtual place which is as indispensable as real space for today’s juvenile. As online delinquency, taken over the form of offline delinquency, has been extended and varied, it is obvious that cyberspace and real space are indivisible. Although it has been found that, regarding previous empirical literature, behaviour in offline is closely allied to behaviour in online, most of the research limitedly examined offline delinquency as the moderating role or a predictor against online delinquency, and vice versa. The main objective of this study is, by using multinominal logistic regression, not only to figure out the etiology of offline and online delinquency, but also to test the moderating role of opportunities and group differences based on self control theory by Hirschi and Gottfredson. Data from Juvenile Victimization in Korea(2014) is used as secondary data for this study. The dependent variable is a group variable which is divided into four categories according to the experience of offline and online delinquency. The independent variable is low self control, and moderating variables are opportunities of offline and online delinquency which are divided into individual factors and environmental factors. Results revealed that juveniles with low self control are more likely to experience both offline delinquency and online delinquency, but low self control was not significantly related to offline and online delinquency separately. However, it is found that environmental opportunity of offline delinquency enhanced the effect of low self control against offline delinquency, and it was the only case which shows the moderating effect of opportunities. Both opportunities of offline and online delinquency were significantly related to online delinquency, whereas only opportunity of offline delinquency significantly affected offline delinquency. Implications for policy and future research were discussed.

오늘날 청소년들의 온라인 비행은 오프라인 공간에서 일어나는 비행들이 고스란히 전이된 형태를 보이면서 점점 광범위해지고 다양해지고 있다. 기존의 선행연구들을 통해 오프라인과 온라인에서의 행위 및 결과가 서로 밀접하게 관련이 있음을 알 수 있지만, 온라인·오프라인 비행이 서로의 독립변수가 되거나 매개변수가 되는 식의 연구방 식들이 대부분이었다. 본 연구에서는 Hirschi와 Gottfredson의 자기통제이론을 기반으로 낮은 자기통제력과 비행의 기회요인, 그리고 둘의 조절효과가 온라인·오프라인 비행에 대하여 어떻게 작용하는지 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 알아보고자 한다. 청소년 대상 범죄피해조사(2014)의 자료를 2차자료로써 활용하여 분석을 실시하 였다. 분석 결과, 자기통제력이 낮을수록 온라인·오프라인 비행에 모두 가담할 가능 성이 높아지고 둘 중 한 가지 유형의 비행에만 가담했을 경우에는 독립적으로 유의 미한 효과를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 오프라인 비행만을 경험한 경우에서는 낮은 자 기통제력이 오프라인 비행에 미치는 영향을 오프라인 비행의 환경적 기회요인이 강 화한다는 결과가 나타났다. 마지막으로는 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 한 정책적 제언과 연구의 한계점에 대해 다루었다.
