As the level of apartment houses improved, the range of material use for external finishing materials expanded. As a result, it is considered necessary to conduct a complex study on the method of using color based on materials. In addition, research on the color use system of apartment houses that conforms to the concept of architectural planning is considered insufficient. The characteristics of color use were extracted from the Hanover Pelikan Viertel apartment complex, which was built with the concept of unique diversity of life, sustainability, and luxury. Analysis criteria on color usage method were analyzed in terms of shape, landscape, relationship between material and color, and the resident's point of view. As a result, the characteristics of the use of color from a morphological point of view were 'maintaining the simplicity of architecture', 'maintaining the form without visual separation', and 'the matching of colors between the architectural form and components'. In terms of material and color, it was found to be ‘concordance of material and paint color’, ‘concordance of color with processed surface color of material’, and ‘total color palette based on color appearing in the skin and texture of material’. Characteristics of the landscape point of view were 'maintaining contextuality by selecting colors of similar series' and 'changes due to differences in brightness'. From the resident's point of view, there were no 'methods that do not distinguish the boundaries and areas of furniture' and 'a method of using colors that do not support perception according to the use of communal facilities'. The results of this study are thought to be helpful in the formation of guidelines for apartment houses and the design of exterior facades, contributing to the realization of sustainable housing culture values and the establishment of advanced policies for the use of color in apartment complex.

공동주택의 수준이 향상되면서 외부 마감재에 재료 사용범위가 확장되었다. 이로서 재료기반의 색채사용방식에 관한 복합적 연구가 필요하다고 생각된다. 또한 건축의 계획 개념에 부합되는 공동주 택의 색채사용체계에 관한 연구도 부족한 편으로 생각된다. 따라서 이번 연구에서 독특한 삶의 다양성, 지속가능성, 사치스러움을 개념으로 조성된 하노버 펠리칸 비에르텔 공동주택단지를 대상으로 색채사 용특징을 추출하였다. 색채 사용방식의 분석 기준은 형태, 경관, 재료와 색채의 관계, 거주자의 관점으 로 접근하였다. 그 결과 형태적 관점에서 나타난 색채사용 특징은 ‘건축의 단순성 유지’, ‘시각적 분리가 없는 형태유지’, ‘건축 형태와 구성요소의 색채 일치’로 나타났다. 재료와 색채의 관점에서는 ‘재료와 페인트 색채의 일치’, ‘가공된 재료의 표면색과 색채의 일치’, ‘재료의 표피와 질감에서 나타나 는 색채 기반의 전체 색채 팔레트’ 형성으로 나타났다. 경관적 관점의 특징은 ‘유사계열의 색채에 의한 맥락성 유지’와 ‘명도차이에 의한 변화’가 나타났다. 거주자의 관점에서 나타난 특징은 ‘세대의 경계와 영역을 구분하지 않는 방식’, ‘공동시설 용도에 따른 지각의 지원이 없는 색채사용방식’이 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구의 결과는 공동주택 가이드라인 형성과 외부 입면설계에 도움을 줄 것으로 생각되며, 지속가능한 주거문화의 가치구현과 선진적 공동주택 색채사용방식 정책수립에 기여하게 될 것으로 생각된다.
