As the importance of ESG management gets emphasized worldwide, the subjects of ESG management such as corporations, governments, and local administrations are making various efforts to practice ESG management effectively and relay their endeavor and outcome to the investors and consumers. It is found in various researches that culture and art activities by corporations have a positive influence both internally and externally, and corporations engage with culture and art as a part of ESG management for the sake of profit and sustainability. However, studies on the relationship between ESG management and culture and art are insufficient. This research, therefore, aims to identify and analyze the issues and socio-cultural relationship between ESG and culture and art via news data analysis. Frequency analysis, TF-IDF analysis, word cloud, and topic modeling were conducted for news articles that include the words “ESG” and “art” simultaneously. By doing so, this paper identified and visualized frequently appearing keywords and important keywords respectively in news articles, and analyzed the semantic structure and pattern through topic modeling. As a result, “social contribution,” “support,” “environment,” “global,” and “COVID-19” turned out to be the most frequently appearing keywords, and TF-IDF analysis revealed that “exhibition,” “social contribution,” “artist,” “support,” “artwork,” and “performance” are the important keywords. Topic modeling using LDA presented five topics: “Environment, Culture and Arts”, “Citizen-centered ESG”, “Fusion with Technology”, “Cultural and Arts activities of a Corporations”, and “ESG Issues and Problems”. This paper defined and analyzed the subject of each topic. This research demonstrates an unprecedented analysis of the relationship between ESG and culture and art and their issues through text mining and suggests foundational data for establishing ESG strategies using culture and art.

전 세계적으로 ESG 경영에 대한 중요성이 강조됨에 따라 기업, 정부, 지자체 등 ESG 주체들은 ESG 경영을 위한 다양한 노력을 펼치고 있다. 메세나(Mecenat), CSR, CSV 등과 관련한 여러 연구를 통해 기업의 문화예술 활동이 내·외부적으로 기업에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있으며, 기업은 이익 창출과 지속가능성을 위해 ESG 경영의 일환으로 문화예술과 관계를 맺고 있다. 하지만, ESG 경영과 문화예술의 관계에 관한 연구는 부족한 실 정이다. 이에 본 연구는 뉴스 데이터 분석을 통해 ESG와 문화예술 간의 사회·문화적 관계성과 이슈를 파악하고 분 석하는 것을 목적으로 ESG, 예술 두 키워드를 동시에 포함한 뉴스 기사를 대상으로 빈도분석, TF-IDF 분석, 워드클 라우드, 토픽모델링을 실시했다. 이를 통해 뉴스 기사 내 자주 등장하는 키워드와 중요 키워드를 도출하고 시각화했 으며, 토픽모델링을 활용해 숨겨진 의미구조와 패턴을 분석했다. 분석 결과 ‘사회공헌’, ‘지원’, ‘환경’, ‘글로벌’, ‘코로 나19’ 등의 출현빈도 상위 키워드가 나타났으며, TF-IDF 분석 결과 ‘전시’, ‘사회공헌’, ‘작가’, ‘지원’, ‘작품’ ‘공연’ 등 이 중요 키워드로 나타났다. LDA를 활용한 토픽모델링 결과 “환경을 위한 문화예술”, “국민 중심의 ESG”, “기술과의 융합”, “기업의 문화예술 활동”, “ESG 이슈와 문제점” 5개 토픽이 나타났으며, 토픽별로 주제를 정의하고 분석했다. 본 연구는 최초로 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 적용해 ESG와 문화예술 간의 관계성과 이슈를 확인하고, 문화예술을 활용 한 ESG 경영의 전략 수립을 위한 기초자료를 제시했다는 것에 그 의미가 있다.
