The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of disaster scene commander’s leadership on the field involvement. Unlike the existing previous studies, this study further subdivided the division of firefighters into fire station administrative personnel, rescue workers, paramedics, and firefighters, and also explored the relationship between the characteristics of disaster scene commander’s leadership and the characteristics of disaster scene activity commitment. In addition, this study attempted to investigate how the disaster field commander’s leadership characteristics affect disaster scene involvement, field concentration, field understanding and execution, understanding and execution of activity tactics, understanding and execution of supervisor instruction, understanding and utilization of firefighting equipment, loyalty formation degree between firefighters, and loyalty to job. Also, it is clear that the field activities of the field activity members in various disaster scenes have a lot of urgencies such as lifesaving, and the characteristics and qualities of the field commander are also emerging so important. In this way, ultimately, firefighting activities to protect the lives and property of the people were intended to provide basic academic and policy data that could provide a higher level of services. As a result, among the leadership characteristics of field commanders, field information gathering ability and communication ability were found to be a major part in improving the reliability of the commander of the field activity members. And in the results of the analysis of difference in disaster scene involvement according to gender, in comparison with female firefighters, the involvement of male firefighters were found to be higher in field involvement, disaster scene understanding and execution, understanding and execution of activity tactics, and understanding and utilization of firefighting equipment. And there was a significant difference in the field involvement according to work experience. In other words, in the analysis of field involvement, the personnel who worked for more than 21 years were the highest, followed by crews with less than 5 years of experience, and crews with more than 11 years and less than 15 years of work experience in that order. It is worth noting that the field involvement of more than 11 years and less than 15 years of work experience was found to be lower than the field involvement of new members of less than 5 years. The reason for the relatively low level of concentration in the group of 11 to 15 years of work experience is because it is not an old age in their opinion, but they’re thinking that the tension of their own way that their career is getting shorter as the number of working years now exceeds 10 years. And overall, rescue personnel showed higher levels of field involvement than paramedic personnel. Therefore, if the subjects to be surveyed are expanded nationwide in future and analyzed, it will be reasonable to generalize the results of the study. Also, as this study is based on the empirical analysis, there is a lack of policy alternatives such as the problem of the leadership of the current field commander or future improvement of the field involvement. Therefore, in future research, it will be necessary to make more concretely how to improve the field commander’s leadership by analyzing actual situation and case analysis.

이 연구는 재난현장 지휘관의 리더십이 현장 몰입에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보는 것이 주요목적이다. 기존의 선행연구들 과 달리, 이 연구에서는 소방대원의 구분을 소방서 행정요원, 구조대원, 구급대원, 화재진압대원으로 더욱 세분화하여 재난현장 지휘관이 발휘하는 리더십의 각 특성들과 재난현장에서의 활동 몰입도의 각 특성들 간에 어떤 유의미한 관계가 있는지 구체적으로 살펴보고자 하였으며, 또한 재난현장 지휘관 리더십 특성이 재난현장 몰입도, 현장 집중도, 현장 이해 및 실행도, 활동 전술 이해 및 실행도, 상급자 지시 이해 및 실행도, 소방 장비 이해 및 활용도, 대원 간 신뢰감 형성 정도, 직장에 대한 충성도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 아울러, 각종 재난현장에서는 현장활동 대원들의 현장활동이 인명구조를 비롯하여 분초를 다투는 현장들이 많고 그만큼 현장 지휘관의 특성 및 자질 또한 중요하게 부각될 것이 분명하다. 이에 재난현장에서 현장 지휘관의 리더십 특성이 현장대원들의 현장 몰입도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고 이를 통하여 향후 각종 재난현장에서 정말 필요하고 효과적인 현장 지휘관의 리더십이 무엇인지 이 연구에서 밝혀내고자 하였다. 이를 통하여 궁극적으로 국민의 생명과 재산을 지키기 위한 소방활동이 좀 더 질적으로 한 단계 높은 서비스가 제공될 수 있는 학문적 및 정책적 기초자료를 마련하고자 하였다. 결과적으로 현장 지휘관의 리더십 특성 중 현장 정보수집능력, 의사소통능력이 현장활동 대원들의 현장 몰입도를 높이는 주요 요인으로 밝혀졌 다. 이 연구 분석 결과가 향후 각종 재난현장에서 효율적인 현장지휘를 위해 필요로 하는 현장 지휘관의 리더십 특성과 자질에 어떤 것들이 있고, 이런 현장 지휘관의 리더십 특성이 각종 재난현장 현장활동을 하는 현장대원들이 느끼는 현장 몰입도에 어떤 영향들이 있는지 기초자료를 제공한다는 측면에서 정책적 시사점도 있다고 여겨진다.
