Background: Korea values personality education and is the only country in the world that values personality in school education, such as enacting the personality promotion law. Purpose: Although personality and character education are important, it is intended to compare and analyze the differences in perceptions that may arise from conflicts and misunderstandings caused by failure to overcome generational differences between students, teachers, and volunteers. Methodology/Approach: In order to compare the difference in perception of personality and character education, 565 middle and high school students living in Incheon, 167 secondary teachers, and 193 volunteers were analyzed through the SPSS v23.0 statistical program using a questionnaire. Findings/Conclusions: As a result of the analysis, it is assumed that the generation gap between students, teachers, and volunteers on personality factors and personality education cannot be overcome, but the perception of the necessity and importance of personality education is found to be together. Implications: T h rough this s tudy, e fforts sh ould b e made t o overcome t h e different p erceptions o f personality factors and personality education among students, teachers, and volunteers, and it is suggested that in order to have the qualities of a global leader in the 4th industry and artificial intelligence era, it will be an opportunity to shift from knowledge-oriented education.

배경: 우리나라는 인성교육을 중요시하며 세계에서 유일하게 인성진흥법을 제정하는 등 학교 교육에서 인성을 중요하게 여기고 있다. 목적: 인성과 인성교육을 중요시하고 있으나 학생과 교사 그리고 봉사자 간의 세대 차이 등을 극복하지 못하여 발생하는 갈등과 오해에서 올 수 있는 인식의 차이를 비교 분석하고자 한다. 방법론/접근: 인성과 인성교육에 대한 인식의 차이를 비교하고자 인천시 거주 중·고등학생 565명, 중등 교사 167명, 봉사자 193명을 대상으로 설문지를 사용하여 SPSS v23.0 통계프로그램을 통해 분석하였다. 결과/결론: 분석 결과, 인성의 요인과 인성교육에 대한 학생, 교사, 봉사자 간의 세대 차이를 극복하지 못 하는 것으로 추측되나. 인성교육의 필요성과 중요성에 대한 인식은 함께하는 것으로 나타났다. 시사점: 본 연구를 통해 학생, 교사, 봉사자 간 인성의 요인과 인성교육에 대한 서로 다른 인식을 극복할 수 있도록 노력하여야 할 것이며, 4차 산업과 인공지능 시대에 글로벌 리더의 자질을 갖추려면 지식 중 심의 교육에서 벗어나 인성 중심의 교육으로 전환하는 계기가 되길 제안한다.
