The caricature movement of China was a type of art propaganda to save the country against Japan. This movement was a practice of social value and a product of history, combining the artistic creation and the people’s will of resistance. The main causes of the caricature movement in China include the Chinese people’s protest against Japanese imperialism, the artist’s responsibility to save the country, and their passion for creating art. At that time, the caricatures with resistance to the war took a social role in the historical context of the Sino-Japanese War and conveyed visual pleasure, utilizing various design techniques, such as exaggeration, transformation, and satire. It reflected the theme of resistance and the culture at that time, containing the war scene, the collapse of Japanese imperialism, the lives of the people, and the victory. Also, it promoted the popularization of the caricature through promotional effects of propaganda and various forms and techniques, such as oil painting, print, wall painting, and Lian Huan Hua. The caricature movement of China was the art movement against Japanese imperialism, which briefly expressed the spirit of resistance with harsh criticism and unique satire. It has practical, cultural significance in social critiques and public enlightenment with creativity, popularity, realism, and sociality.

중국의 항전만화운동은 중일전쟁시기 만화매체를 활용 일본에 항거하며 전쟁 승리를 위한 민족 구국운동의 일환인 문예선전 활동이었다. 이는 만화가의 예술창작과 항전의지가 결합되어 발현된 예술의 사회적 가치의 실천이고 시대적 산물이다. 항전만화운동의 가장 큰 원인은 일본 제국주의 침략에 대한 중국 인민들의 항쟁이고, 만화 가의 구국항전에 대한 책임감과 예술창작을 위한 열정이었다. 당시 <항전만화>는 전쟁이라는 특수한 시대적 배경에서 만화의 사회적 역할과 더불어 과장, 변형, 풍자 등 조형기법을 활용한 시각적 즐거움을 선사하였다. 일본침략과 매국노의 만행, 항전의 현장과 인민의 생활상, 제국 멸망과 항전 승리 등 분명 한 구국항전의 주제의식과 당시 시대문화를 반영하였으며, 전통적인 창작기법에 얽매이지 않고 유화, 판화, 벽화, 연환화 등 다양한 예술형식과 선전홍보 효과를 통해 만화의 대중화를 촉진 하였다. 항전만화운동은 신랄한 비판성과 독특한 풍자성의 예술방식으로 만화가의 항전의 시대정신 을 간결하게 표현하였으며, 사회비판과 대중계몽을 겸한 창의성, 대중성, 현장성, 사회성 등 현 실 문화적 의의를 지닌 항일예술운동이었다.

日中戦時期、中国における抗戦漫画運動は、文芸宣伝活動として対日本戦を勝利に導くための 民族救国運動であった。これは漫画家による芸術創作と抗戦意思が結合され発現された芸術の社会 的価値の実践であり、時代の産物である。 抗戦漫画運動が起きた最大の原因は、日本帝国主義侵略に対する中国人民の抗争であり、漫 画家として救国抗戦に対する責任感と芸術創作に対する情熱の発露であった。当時｢抗戦漫画｣は、 戦争という特需な時代的背景のなかで漫画の社会的役割と誇張ㆍ変形ㆍ風刺などの造形技法を活 用し視覚的な楽しみを中国人民に提供した。 日本侵略と売国奴の蛮行を告発し、抗戦現場と人民生活ぶりを描き出し、帝国滅亡と抗戦と勝利 という当時の時代と文化を反映する主題意識を表現した。なお、伝統の創作技法にとらえられず油 画、版画、壁画、連環畵など様々な芸術形式と宣伝広報の効果を通じて漫画の大衆化を促した。 抗戦漫画運動は辛辣な批判精神と独特な風刺性をもつ芸術方式として漫画家の抗戦意識と時代 精神を簡潔に表現するとともに社会批判と大衆啓蒙を創意性、大衆性、社会性、現状感など現実 文化的な多様な意義を持ち合わせた抗日芸術運動であった。
