In recent years, crimes targeting woman have been increasing, which led to woman's fear about crime. As the number of single-woman households increases, security measures for single-woman households are urgently needed. Accordingly, local governments are introducing various security measures for single-woman tenant households. Among these security measures, projects that support the installation of physical security devices such as smart doorbells are drawing attention. However, there have been few empirical studies on the project to support the installation of physical security equipment that local governments are implementing for single-woman tenant households. Therefore, this study examined the security effects of smart doorbell, one of the physical security equipment that local governments support installation, through in-depth interview methods for single-woman tenant households who are directly installing and using the equipment. The questions of the in-depth interview are mainly about motion sensor, voice modulation, video recording, and remote surveillance, which are typical functions of smart doorbell. The results of this study verified the security effects of smart doorbells on single-woman tenant household, along with the effects of reducing the fear of crime.

최근 여성 1인 가구가 늘면서 여성의 범죄 두려움 증가와 함께 여성에 대한 보안 대책 마련의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 이에 따라 지방자치단체들은 여성 1인 세입자 가구를 대 상으로 여러 보안대책을 선보이고 있다. 이러한 보안대책 가운데 스마트 도어벨 등 물리보 안 장치의 설치를 지원하는 사업이 관심을 끌고 있다. 하지만, 지방자치단체들이 여성 1인 세입자 가구를 대상으로 시행하고 있는 물리보안 장비 설치 지원사업에 대한 실증적 연구는 거의 찾아볼 수 없다. 따라서 본 연구는 지방자 치단체가 설치를 지원하는 물리보안 장비 중의 하나인 스마트 도어벨의 보안 효과에 대해 직접 장비를 설치 사용하고 있는 여성 1인 세입자 가구들을 대상으로 심층면접방법을 통해 보안효과에 대해 살펴보았다. 심층면접의 질문은 스마트 도어벨의 대표적인 기능인 동작 감지, 보이스 변조, 영상 녹화, 원격 감시에 관한 내용이 주를 이루었다. 연구 결과, 스마트 도어벨이 여성 1인 세입자 가구에 대해 범죄 두려움 감소 효과와 함께 일정 부분 보안 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
