In this study, I analyzed police officers’ perceived effectiveness of the Hope-Going Together Program, which is a police-led program for juvenile delinquents. The standard model of the Hope, Going Together Program, that started in October 2019, is meaningful in that it introduced restorative justice approaches. As a result of analyzing a survey of 167 police officers in charge of the program, the police officers responded that the program was helpful in strengthening students’ psychological capacity and improving school adjustment. However, they responded that the program was barely effective in improving social skills. The result of multiple regression showed that the degree of work satisfaction of the police officers in charge, the period of work, and women had a positive effect on the perceived effectiveness of the program, while the degree of work stress and the completion of related job training were negatively associated with the perceived effectiveness of the program. Lastly, 5 topics and 20 sub-topics were found as a result of qualitative analysis of police officers’ descriptive responses. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings were discussed.

이 연구는 경찰청 자체 선도프로그램인 희망동행교실을 수행한 담당 경찰관들의 인식을 실증 분 석한 것이다. 2019년 10월부터 시행된 희망동행교실의 표준모델은 기존의 교육 및 상담 위주의 프로 그램에서 탈피하여 회복적 사법의 관점 및 전략을 도입하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 전국의 희망동행교 실 담당 경찰관 167명을 상대로 한 설문조사를 분석한 결과, 담당경찰관들은 희망동행교실이 학생들 의 심리역량강화, 학교생활 적응개선 등에 도움이 된다고 응답한 반면, 대인관계 기술향상에는 큰 도움이 되지 않는다고 답변하였다. 한편, 다중회귀분석결과, 담당자의 보람 및 만족도, 근무경력, 직 무만족 및 몰입도, 여성 변수는 프로그램의 도움정도 및 선도효과에 정의 효과를 나타낸 반면, 직무 교육 이수여부, 스트레스의 정도는 프로그램의 도움정도 및 선도효과에 부의 효과를 나타내었다. 또 한 프로그램의 개선점 및 발전방안에 대한 서술형 응답을 질적 분석한 결과 5개의 주제 및 20개의 부주제로 분류할 수 있었다. 이상의 분석 결과에 대한 의의 및 활용방안을 논의하였다.
