This study analyzed the effect of youth violence resolution capability on school violence attitude and role expectation of school police officers (SPOs). Based on the study purpose, a nationwide survey targeted for elementary, middle, and high school students was conducted, and the total sample case was 1,497 that were analyzed in this study. We applied several statistical skills to find the results including descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression by using SPSS Statistics 27. The outcomes are summarized as follows. Most of all, among the sub-factors constituting the violence-solving ability, the higher the anger control ability and self-esteem, the higher the youth's acceptability for violent behavior, while the higher the empathy and problem-solving ability, the lower the violence acceptability. Next, it was analyzed that the higher the adolescent's empathy ability, conflict management ability, problem-solving ability, and self-esteem, the higher the role expectations for SPOs. The violence resolution capability also has a positive effect on the role expectation of SPOs among students. The results of this study can be used for future violence prevention policy and better ways for enacting SPO in school environments for safety.

이 연구는 폭력에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치는 청소년의 폭력해결역량이 무엇인지를 파악하고, 이 역량 요인이 학교전담경찰관(School Police Officer, 이하 SPO) 역할에 대한 기대에도 영향을 미치는 지 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 통해, SPO에 대한 역할 강화뿐 아니라, 예방교육 내용에서 다루어 야 할 폭력해결역량 강화 훈련의 중요성과 그 구체적인 대안에 대해 논의하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 초·중·고등학생 1,497명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문의 주요 내용은 폭력해결역량 (공감능력, 분노조절능력, 갈등조절능력, 자존감, 문제해결능력)과 학교폭력에 대한 태도, SPO에 대 한 기대역할에 대한 인식을 중심으로 구성되었다. 조사 결과는 SPSS Statistics 27을 이용해 기술통 계분석, 요인분석, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였고, 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 우선, 폭력해결역량을 구성하는 하위요인 중 분노조절능력과 자존감이 높을수록 청소년의 폭력수용 성은 높았다. 그에 반면, 공감능력과 문제해결능력이 높아질수록 폭력수용성이 낮아지는 것으로 나 타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 공감능력, 갈등조절능력, 문제해결능력, 자존감이 높을수록 SPO 역할에 대한 기대가 높아지는 것으로 분석되었다. 폭력해결역량을 구성하는 대부분의 하위요인이 SPO 기대역할 에 긍정적 영향을 미치므로 결국 청소년의 높은 폭력해결역량은 SPO 역할에 긍정적으로 작용하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 효과적인 폭력예방교육과 SPO역할의 수립에 대한 논의를 진행하였다.
