Although it has been submerged under the water due to the corona pandemic, the aging of the Korean church(the increase in the elderly population within the church) is one of the most serious problems that will threaten the Korean church in the future. Also, considering that church education is the mission of the church to be fulfilled at all ages, from young children in infancy to the elderly preparing for the last hours of their lives, there is no doubt that systematic education for the elderly is necessary. Those education programs for the elderly should be able to help deal with the various life crises and various needs that older adults face. This study was conducted to suggest an alternative Christian education program for the elderly through acting as one of the educational programs for the elderly that can be used in local churches or various Christian institutions. In fact, the elderly go through many changes with age, not just getting older. In other words, the elderly are complex beings who experience loss of role, loss of dignity, loneliness and alienation, and the face of disease and death, as well as various organs of the body weaken with old age. Therefore, it is very important to provide senior citizens with education as part of lifelong education so that they can live a healthy life of old age. Also, since the scope of Christian education itself covers all areas and stages of life, it should be an important goal of church education to help the elderly continue to grow and become mature Christians within their close relationship with God. Above all, in order to complete the life of sanctification as a saint, a continuous and systematic elderly education program is absolutely necessary. As such, education for the elderly is so important and necessary for improving the quality of life and satisfaction of the elderly, various subjects and methods are being tried in addition to the general education programs for the elderly, one of which is elderly education through plays. In particular, when educating the elderly through play, it can satisfy the various educational needs of the elderly outlined by McClusky. Therefore, this researcher proposes a Christian elderly education program through theatrical activities for a total of 10 lessons.

그동안 코로나 팬데믹 때문에 수면 아래 가라 앉아 있기는 하였으나 한국 교회의 고령화, 즉 교회 내 고령인구의 증가문제는 앞으로 한국 교회를 위협할 가장 중대한 문제 중 하나이다. 또한 교회교육은 유아기의 어린 아이부터 시작해서 생의 마지막을 준비하고 있는 노인들에 이르기까지 전 연령에서 이루어져야 하는 교회의 사명이라는 것을 생각할 때, 노년의 성도들이 직면하고 있는 다양한 삶의 위기들과 다양한 욕구 들의 해결을 도와줄 수 있는 체계적인 노인 교육이 필요함에는 이견이 없을 것이다. 본 연구는 지역교회나 다양한 기독교 기관에서 사용할 수 있는 노인들을 위한 교육 프로그램의 하나로 연극 활동을 통한 기독교 노인교육 프로그램을 대안으로 제안하기 위해 수행되었다. 사실 노인들은 나이만 드는 것이 아니라 나이와 함께 많은 변화를 겪는다. 즉 노 인들은 신체의 여러 기관들이 노령의 나이로 약해지는 것은 물론, 역할상실, 존엄성 상실, 외로움과 소외, 질병과 죽음의 직면 등을 경험하는 복합적인 존재인 것이다. 그 렇기 때문에 노인들에게 평생교육의 일환으로 노인교육을 제공하여 건강한 노년의 삶을 살아가도록 하는 것은 너무나 중요하다. 또한 기독교교육의 범위 자체가 삶의 모 든 영역, 모든 단계에 다 해당되기 때문에 노인들이 지속적으로 하나님과의 친밀한 관계 안에서 성장하고 성숙한 그리스도인이 되도록 돕는 것은 교회 교육의 중요한 목 표가 되어야 하고, 무엇보다 한 사람의 성도로서 성화의 삶을 완성하는데 있어 지속 적이고, 체계적인 노인교육 프로그램은 반드시 필요하다. 이와 같이 노인들을 위한 교육은 노인들의 삶의 질과 만족도를 높이는데 있어서 너무나 중요하고 필요하기 때문에 기존에 수행되던 일반적인 노인교육 프로그램 외에 다양한 주제와 방법들을 가지고 노인교육 프로그램들을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하고 있는데, 이렇게 새롭게 시도되고 있는 프로그램 중 한 가지가 연극을 통한 노인교육 이다. 특히 연극을 통해 노인들을 교육할 때 McClusky가 정리한 노인들이 가지는 다 양한 교육적 욕구를 충족시켜 줄 수 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 총 10차시에 이르는 연 극 활동을 통한 기독교 노인 교육 프로그램을 제안한다.
