The purpose of this study was to understand in depth the depression of ou-of-school adolescents and to seek more effective interventions by indentifying what mediating factors weaken or strengthen the relationship between parental attachment and depression of ou-of-school adolescents. For the purpose, self-esteem and career barrier were established as variables mediating the relationship between parental attachment and depression of ou-of-adolescents. To investigate the mediating effect, the structural equation model was examined. The data for the model validation was the 5th Panel Survey data of School Dropouts conducted by National Youth Policy Institute. The data was analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. The main results are as follows. First, out-of adolescents' parental attachment, self-esteem, career barrier, and depression were correlated. Second, self-esteem mediated between out-of adolescents' parental attachment and depression. Third, self-esteem double-mediated between out-of adolescents' parental attachment and depression via career barrier. The results contribute to our understanding of the process that out-of adolescents' parental attachment influences depression. In addition, the implications and limitations of this study are discussed.

본 연구는 학교 밖 청소년들의 부모애착과 우울의 관계가 어떠한 매개변인으 로 약화되거나 강화되는가를 확인하여 학교 밖 청소년의 우울을 심층적으로 이 해하고, 보다 효과적인 개입을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구의 목적 을 위하여 학교 밖 청소년의 부모애착과 우울의 관계를 매개하는 변인으로 자아 존중감과 진로장애를 설정하고, 학교 밖 청소년의 부모애착, 자아존중감, 진로장 애, 우울 간의 구조모형을 구성하여 분석하였다. 분석을 위하여 본 연구에서는 한국청소년정책연구원이 수행한 「학업중단 청소년 패널 조사 및 지원방안 연 구」의 데이터 자료를 활용하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 23.0 프로 그램을 사용하여 기초통계분석, 상관관계 분석, 측정모형 검증, 구조모형 검증, 매개변인의 효과 분석 등을 통해 이루어졌다. 분석의 결과는 첫째, 학교 밖 청소 년의 부모애착, 자아존중감, 진로장애, 우울은 모두 유의미한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학교 밖 청소년의 부모애착은 자아존중감을 매개로 우울에 영향 을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 학교 밖 청소년의 부모애착과 우울의 관계 에서 자아존중감과 진로장애는 이중매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 연구의 시사점과 한계를 제언하였다.
